not sure how serious you're being, but i found myself wishing they'd bring out a serious Tennis game (where you could play in grand slams/have a career mode) but in the form of using the Wii remote as a racket and not just as a joypad.
Goldeneye followed by COD: modern warfare
Off the top of my head...
California Games (nes/snes)
Super mario (snes)
Super mario kart (snes)
Super mario kart 64
Goldeneye 64
Zelda: Ocarina of Time 64
Star Fox (Lylat Wars) 64
GTA 3 (PS2)
GTA Vice City (PS2)
Arkham Knight PS4
Single player campaign: RDR2 followed closely by RDR1. Super Mario 3 (nes) worth a mention
Multiplayer: Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64,
GTA San Andreas. Best video game ever IMO.
San Andreas. End of discussion.
More recently I enjoy David Cages games. Detroit was the best emotional storytelling game I've ever played outside of Football Manager.

Try as I might I just could not get into either RDR.
I think its mainly from having to ride around on a fecking horse when i just want to steal a motorbike or something.
Video games came along too late for me so I'm going to have to go Arcade games
Gorf
Phoenix
Donkey Kong
Centipede
Final Fantasy X (PS2/3/4)
Bloodborne (PS4)
God of War (PS4)
COD MW2 was the peak, every version since has been shiite.
Going back further Mario Kart 64, Pilotwings on the Super Nintendo, Hogs of War (PS1)
Sports games are pretty dumb - usually pretty much the same game released every year.
As for real games:
1. Majora's mask
2. Soma
3. Bioshock
4. Ocarina of Time
5. Half Life 2

I think MW2 is the one I’m thinking off.
Pokemon and Mario kart on Nintendo
GTA vice City for PS2
Assassins Creed and Mass Effect for PS3
Black Ops 3 for PS4
No love for Altered Beast on the Mega Drive?
Going back a bit but I loved things like Populous and Sim City on the Amiga back in the day. Also Desert Strike as an action game.
I also remember the text based fantasy games of the 80s.

If you liked Detroit, then I would highly recommend Soma.
I guess you could call it a horror game, but most of the enjoyment comes from the plot and concept. Its personally the most ambitious narrative I have ever seen, and covers concepts and ideas which rarely get touched in video games.
Deux Ex on the pc. Absolutely masterpiece.
Too many to name, big fan of the witcher 3 though, the dlc is genuinely glorious aswell, puts nearly every other studio to shame

The GTA’s were great, but the campaign on the red dead’s was so much more in depth and I found the characters were better.

I find it hard to really order this list to be honest, I kind of love the games equally, but I find MM to edge it because of the darker tone.
I agree that they are both classics though!
I was a huge fan of Duke nukem 64
