Metro, you beat me to it. My dad used to live in Lothar Rd - next door to the ground. And as a kid I used to get into the Boys Enclosure at half time for various games. Tommy Smith, Ian Callaghan and (Sir) Roger Hunt were there for me to see and I will always remember them. RIP Tommy Smith, a space is waiting for you at the Big Bootroom in the sky.

Very sad news. Always loved watching him play and still remember his European Cup Final goal.
RIP Tommy. Say hi to Bill et al
Great player and a sad loss
Now, he is a proper legend.
RIP Tommy lad
I heard Frank Worthington once describe him as an Exocet missle.
You could see him coming to tackle you.
You knew what he was going to do with you if you had the audacity to possess the ball.
There was fekal you could do about it!
RIP Tommy. A legend.
Rest easy sir, a colossus when i watched him when i was a kid!
Sad news, the first top flight game I ever saw was Ipswich v Liverpool and saw him play. Liverpool’s answer to Ron Harris.
