It was a long time ago but wasn't Aubamayeng the reason we came back and won so many games in the first half of the season?

We bought the joint top scorer in the premier league. Probably make a profit on him if we were to sell him.
I said in Jan we should ship Auba (who I've wanted us to sign since his 2nd season at Dortmand).
We need the transfer funds and his stock should hopefully still be quite high. Lacazette is good enough and they can't function in the same team. Auba will decline so cashing in now to reinvest makes sense when we're lacking any sort of decent budget

We won't get big money for Auba even if we sold because he's 30ish now and we suck at selling players though.
It’s absolutely embarrassing that we will most likely finish behind a United team that we were miles ahead of at Xmas time. This capitulation is far worse than I could have envisaged.

A commanding centre half.
That Auba 30 yard tap in against Spurs when we were 2-1 down.
Who is selling Aubameyang and Lacazette.
They are the only shining lights to the season.
Sell the likes of Xhaka, Mustafi, Kolsaniac, Mkhi and Ozil.
Speaking of Emery, for a guy that studies their opponents with video analysis, these players don’t seem to be learning a lot. We have allowed three teams in the space of a week to impose thier game plans on us with ease.

What did people expect this season? With the players we’ve got, it’s pretty much going as expected for me. Before the season started I said I’d be satisfied with us properly challenging for top 4, and going far in Europa. The away form is of course worrying and I’m annoyed it’s not been put right. But we will end with more points this season, so there’s been slight progress and importantly we haven’t been worse
Next season will be the proper test. My realistic hopes was not to be worse, make small steps of progress then push on from there. I didn’t expect us at all to be comfortably top 4 all year. We’re clearly not good enough. But everyone seems to be acting as if it was a given we should be finishing 2nd/3rd. We have so many problems, realistically this will take Time to fix. Many of these players have to leave and be replaced before we can make actual progress
Nobody wants them and they are too comfortable at Arsenal though. This is what happens when you sign average players and overpay them.

Honestly I dont want to single out Auba here in the first place. He has been like that for a while now. But why some other on here single out Xhaka on every occasion doesnt feel right for me. Put everything in persepective.
People want to sell our strikers even after moaning about the defence and midfield? Without the strong base it is a lot harder for the strikers to do their job - their chances are limited and they have to work a lot harder.
Yet Auba still has 19 and Laca 13.

If someone hypothetically makes a massive bid (unlikely now his stock appears to have fallen) then I'd sell Auba. At one point you could see an 80m bid and that money would be too much to turn down for a club claiming they don't have funds while the squad needs so much investment.
