You're mad to even think of arsenal competing for the champions league.
Arteta would have us challenging for the league and domestic cups, he'll of a lot more than what emery will.
Emery will have us competing for 3rd/4th place during his time here

I was just pointing out that he hasn't done that good a job even as a number 2. You cannot give him credit for Man City doing well in the league and then ignore his performance in the Champions League. And all of that with unlimited money.
What makes you think he has the ability to spot talent? Develop youngsters or even has enough tactical ability to win games your squad has no right to.
We beat Utd, Chelsea and Spurs at home this year. Drew with Spurs and Utd away. All teams that were present in the late stages of the Champions League. Emery did that. Wenger hasn't been able to compete against the best teams in this league for years.
Emery's job is to get us qualified for the Champions League by the end of next season. So far he has done a very good job and but still not hit his main target. He may do it this season!
But to assume that an unproven coach, a no.2 has the ability to do what Emery has already done is reckless.

I have to say it would be nice to have a former player in managing the club one of these days. There's nothing like some good old syrupy sentimentality to tug at the heartstrings.
As a product of the 80s, my generation was too young to appreciate the Graham and Howe years. Closest we ever came was Pat Rice and Bouldy.
Who knows, we might be giving Arteta,Vieira or a couple of others a call in a couple of years.

I've been very disappointed with our last 5 Premier League performances and Emery must take some of the blame for that, however, with this weak squad he has done OK overall and at least deserves next season to see what more he can do.
Silent Stan needs to allocate Emery some money and give him a chance - to get rid of him now would be in my opinion ridiculous.

This season?
Now is not the time to be talking about changing managers , the team is still largely Wenger’s team and so is the general club mentality. It will take more than one season to change 22 years of input.
Yes Emery does tinker with formations too much but he is trying to get the best out of the players he has inherited , most of whom are not good enough to be at Arsenal.
Lets wait until the end of next season and see where we are then , if we get CL this season it will be an unexpected bonus , but if we don’t get it next season then Emery will come under severe pressure, thats what life is like as manager of a top PL club , results are everything.
