It's a lot of nonsense
It's not tradition. The Madrid Champs League Derby saw both teams do it after the game for medal and trophy collection but it has never been a thing.
The media use it to stir up angst and hatred, same as the wearing a poppy on the strips thing that was never an issue until the past few years
