I think he's your best midfielder tbh, he's the type of player I was hoping Kovacic would be.

Like to see him use his ability more, he passes responsibility far too often for someone with his ability.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fairly sure he's asked to do that
_______________
Klopp took responsibility to containing Hendo too? maybe he needs to ask more of Gini.
Certainly an undervalued player. Fits Klopp's style perfectly and hasn't been one of them players that has struggled since moving from a smaller side to a bigger side who are usually under more pressure than the smaller clubs these days in terms of winning trophies.
Any criticism I have of him is that sometimes he can be a bit slow on the ball, taking that extra touch or two when releasing the pass may open an opportunity, but he hasn't always been the only Liverpool midfielder to do this. But he is a very good player in that midfield. Probably the most likely of the Liverpool midfielders I'd say could knock up 10 goals in a season, which is a rarity these days really.
hes a good player, frustrating when you see what he can do on the ball yet hes so passive.

Still, he does a good job most of the time on what hes asked to do, win the ball keep it simple. Just feel theres not much need for that now with Fabinho he needs to carry the ball more take more risks get forward with more intent.
His first goal vs Barca last night i felt he was a bit hesitant and was lucky he got to the ball first, he kind of slowed down on his way to the box.
my bad i just rewatched it and realised he collided with the barca player which slowed him down but yeah he needs to do more of that these days.
barca with their off the ball blocking of our players again, didnt work this time.
He's a good goal scoring midfielder and hopefully that can be utilised better in the future. Good with both feet and his head, he could be getting 10+ goals for us with a different role.
Protects the ball incredibly well.
His cryff last night was funny as fvck too. Loved it.
he wins the ball well hes strong and is hard to get the ball off too, rarely gives away possession. Just feel something be it himself his role or Klopp is holding his true potential back, we have seen numerous times the quality he can produce on the ball and in the final third chip goal vs bournemouth was class, hes still had a very good season and early on when we were scraping through games he was key then aswell, played a massive part in an extraordinary season thats for sure.
Our best midfielder over the whole of this season, although Fab has been better imo in the second half of the season.
Gini keeps the ball in tight areas superbly. He an can tackle and pass well and is strong. He's very under valued in my eyes.
For PSG he scored ridiculous amount of goals and took free kicks I think. He is a wonderful player and I recall was well happy when we bought him. A proper Dutch player that plays total football.
We've been lucky with our midfield this season, wij and milner started the season really well, then as they both got a bit tired second half Fab, Hendo and Naby hit form.
Gini is a funny one, the ability he shows every now and then is so unlike his normal style - remember him playing like a baller against Arsenal last season, knocking everyone over and covering everything.
Also I loved how the picked-up Ter Stegen and rolled him over after his first goal yesterday, to get the ball back quickly haha
Fittest player in the squad apparently.
Very rarely injured too. I think he made 38 prem appearances last season, most of which were starts?
Also, we only signed him after the Zielinski transfer fell through. Turned out to be a great bit of business for us.

Matip 😍shame the guy cant play more than once a week and constantly picks up niggles. What a game from him, looked better than vvd 😂. Always rated him mainly cause he was free and a player of his quality for free is a facking steal even if he is injury prone and cant generate any heading power due to his sponge head.
