not sure he is what's needed here. We need someone with a bit of the X factor.
10 points in 18 games Ive just read this year
in saying that this is his only bad spell of managing in years, done a great job at Newcastle before this
Taking the no happenings out of the equation in Mourinho and benitez, who would be your pick?
No brainer to me, get it done Pete 😡
Would be a solid appointment.
Would deffo say it is the best/most realistic option for celtic at the moment.
Done a pretty good job every where he has been, so I wouldn't say no. Probably a safe option.
I would like to see us push the boat out a wee bit though and see if we can get another higher profile manager. The difference Rodgers made to what was essentially Deila's team +2 players was drastic.

I'd be reasonably happy if you got him so i'd agree he lacks the x factor.
Decent though but nothing special.

he's a fair bit ahead of your manager though in terms of experience, winning stuff etc
wagner would have been my choice but its not to be on that one.
Cant believe Brighton have sacked Hughton. Gets them up, keeps them up and an FA cup semi too.. Outrageous.
Would be a very good appointment for us
Yeah terrific appointment if it happened.

Fair bit behind him in managing a club in the Old Firm experience though
Bigger more successful men than Houghton have come up here and failed badly. That's not to say he wouldn't do well it just not an appointment that would worry me, you not being excited by it can probably understand that
He's got a waft of the Tony Mowbray about him.

Not for me - decent manager, I want better than that....has been on a dreadful run in the league but still surprised they let him go. Wee diddy team with unrealistic expectations.....plenty of them down there
Would he be any different to the likes of Roberto Martinez otr even Lennon?
Solid manager as has been said but nothing special.

Unfair.
Lennon took a team out of the Championship in a different direction that Houghton

He got Newcastle, Norwich and Brighton promoted from the EFL. Brighton look for ward to their third year in the EPL thanks to him. Outstanding CV.
Not the outstanding name when you look at it on the face of it however he is just the personality to do a great job
Calm, composed, tactically minded, player developer, knows the market for spotting a player. I wouldn't be against it. It isn't the headline name we'd hope for but the point about on a par with Martinez is a fair one and I'd like to see us pursue it
Wouldn't get me lathered up....
