I was sharing a tiny, enclosed office with two women. One, an older officesexy type. She'd made her way in the banking world in the 80s when skirts were short and no good bottom went unpatted. No #metoo nonsense for her. She was all fondue kits and pampas grass.
The other was a kid barely into her twenties. She would cycle to work and come in glowing. I could smell her warm young skin, alive and bursting with youthful hormones like a ripe peach warms a room with its fragrance.
One particularly warm and sticky summer's day, both of them had come to work in bare legs and sleeveless summer dresses. The atmosphere felt different in the room. Charged with some unknown electricity.
Some risque banter was becoming somehow more meaningful. Looks going on a little too long. Parted lips and expanding pupils. The older one suggested in a not-quite-joking way that we lock the door to get some peace and quiet. So I left and went home and bummed my boyfriend.

Have to agree. This single comment beats the jinky thread into a miserable second.
