I think the £40m figure has come about very recently as Fulham pretend United are interested to drive up the price. One year left on his deal, so £25m makes sense.

Well I feel like it will have slightly more sway on our own players than players we're hoping to attract.

If we win the CL players are more likely to want to force a move here. Levy knows this and I guess might be waiting to see if he can knock a few £m off asking prices.

I’m not sure it’ll have much impact on our players signing deals. On one hand they might want to stay with the European Champions, on the other it could be seen as a good time to draw a line under their time here and go out on a high.

I think players from the outside can see how far this side has come with Poch and that they'd want to be a part of it whether we win the CL or not. Whereas for someone like Eriksen, I think if we don't win the CL, he'll feel like it's another case of so near yet so far, and after 7 years and in his late 20's, it's time to move on to a team with a better chance of winning something.

Don't forget Grealish.

Also Zaniolo is a winger, though I would imagine he'll end up in midfield eventually considering how tall and strong he is.

I would say those 4 plus Bale are the best on the list. Ndombele especially is exactly what we need and would be the most exciting transfer since van der Vaart IMO
