Martial has better stats than Ronaldo at the same age but we all know it’s a joke to compare the two. Stats don’t always tell the whole story. No one is doubting Pogba is a talented player - but he lacks the application to be the best and he’s a distraction that the club doesn’t need. Thankfully he wants out and maybe we can build a team and not a sideshow that drums to the beat of what Pogba wants
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. Get rid of Pogba and we have Matic, Fred, McTominay and Perreira as our centre midfield options. That honestly is relegation standard
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Crazy as it sounds, we might actually buy a CM or two this summer if Pogba goes
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We will need 3 centre midfielders
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Nobb has it his way, we will sell Pogba and buy Ndidi. Nobb knows sweet all about football
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You make me laugh. You keep talking about knowing about football but things like context and reasoning are things way below your skill set. You just see raw talent and think that is all that counts. You don’t understand that a 7/10 player with amazing application can be a better option than an 8/10 player with limited application.
Try and open your mind and understand how losing a talented player like Pogba isn’t quite the death sentence you might think it is
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is with this squad. You need to wake up! We do not have Ferguson or the players of yesterday anymore. Madrid lost Ronaldo and look at them. Only Ferguson can lose a talent like that and keep competing! Wake up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pogba is nowhere near as key to us as Ronaldo was to Madrid
No he is not, he is still our most influential player, which is the point. Without him this season, we would've finished below Wolves
If you can’t see that then I can’t really say anymore. It’s quite obvious he is, which is why moving on from him makes sense if we want to move on from this way of portraying ourselves as a club.
What’s the relevance of the stance in the context of my points? Beckham was a player with all of Pogba’s status, and more, but ten times the application and will to be the best.
Manchester United would be a far better team if we had more players like Beckham than more players like Pogba.

He doesn’t have that much influence - this season he had a nice 10 game run from December - Feb but went missing as the season went on and wasn’t there when we needed him. Now, he wasn’t the only player but as he wants out I really don’t see the point of trying to keep him when consistency is the very thing we need now. Not rolling the dice and hoping Pogba has one of his good games of a Cardiff style game where he literally walks around while the guy he’s marking runs straight past him and sets up a goal
A player that is lacking consistency but wanted by the biggest club in the world. When was the last time our scouting system found a gem? Name us this better player, Nobb?

Real want him for many reasons, consistency ain’t high up the list. It’s a punt for them as well. There’s no guarantee he’ll succeed there.
As for who’s better, again, it’s not my job to name names. But surely it’s a depressing world if you truly think Pogba is the best we can get?
Plus this debate ain’t a fair one
I could name a name and you’d throw context out the window and try and make a direct comparison forgetting that Pogba wants out and even an on paper not so good player would be a better option because
1) he actually would choose to play for us
2) maybe he fits into Ole’s system better than Pogba did

He does lack consistency however i still put it down to the players around him. You couldn't find me 1 midfielder in world football that could do it week in week out with the likes of Matic, Fred, McTominay and Lingard around them. Every player needs good players around them to properly excel

He is mostly good in a France shirt.
Pogba will be difficult to replace. But it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that we can become a better unit in midfield by bringing in two players to replace him.
I’d rather he stays, but we’ll still need to build a team to cater for his flaws that may actually be harder to do than replace him. Depends on how Ole wants to set us up.

Fack it, here’s three (imo) realistic names
Neves

If we could get those three it would transform our midfield and account for the loss of Pogba and Herrera as well as give us a bit of everything
Even someone like Declan Rice as an alternative to Neves
Sanchez, Jones, Young and Matic.

All well and good Robb in an unrealistic world however that is our whole transfer budget blown.
Our biggest priority is a Cb and RB
Indeed but we have a transfer budget without needing to sell Pogba so his (probably inevitable) transfer can help fund his replacement - as can it Herrera’s

I agree with this. If we have sensible replacements in mind it is certainly possible to get rid of a player of Pogba's ability. Personally if he does not wan tto be at the club, I'd be happy to get the structure of a good side in place this before adding that creative flair.
