It is understood that the Red Devils are looking at building a committee of ex-players to help recruit players "
Yeah, it is. And it's absolutely mental. Tbf Kevin Horlock and Paul Dickov are working wonders at City. As are John Scales and Jason McAteer at City. No. Wait, they aren't. Because it makes no sense
I know nothing about Webber but the sheer fact he's being considered on achievement over former associations with United is a step in the right direction.
There’s this chap, called Wenger.
He ain’t got much on his plate right now.
Bring him in as DoF.
And watch AFTV go into meltdown...
but is going after Wenger such a bad idea?
Discuss...

The list of players he passed on is far better than the list he signed.
So we hire Wenger and sign the players he says not To. Simples
They want to hire someone who has a good track record for helping teams get promotion.
I guess they’re worried next season might be another bad one, but at least we’ll bounce straight back up, maybe.
Underwhelmed much.
I have no idea about Webber's credentials but the idea that we may be looking at someone who doesn't have a shiny, superficially impressive CV at least gives some hope that we may be thinking a bit deeper about substantive qualities and finding a good fit for the club than in past recruitment decisions (from LVG to Sanchez).

Depends what their role is. If the help us ambassadorial rather than strategic, I don't see a problem.
A) somebody doing that role currently with experience
B) probably knows a few young gems knocking about. Didn't Maddison move from Norwich to Leicester?
Much rather this than giving an ex player the role who doesn't know what the role is.

Nor me. Not at all. But all the reports suggest they'd be fulfilling a role as technical directors, with a heavy input into basically every footballing decision made. That's crazy. But the "new United" is fast becoming a poor re-hash of past United's in different rolls, rolled into one terribly unqualified mess
Yes, tis true Wenger has passed on some class players.
However, how much credit does he get for Anelka and Henry. Van Persie, Fabregas, Viera.
Think those choices alone put him in contention.
With the stuff floating about, my logic was, We have an inexperienced CEO. We have an Inexperienced Manager. Maybe Wenger helps fill the hole...
I think this is an interesting direction, if true.
