Will the day ever come in England when they build a cricket ground that holds over 40,000 people?

I know it's difficult in a country that has so many football and cricket grounds. In Australia our big grounds share with Aussie Rules.

Ohhh but you don't fill the grounds for most cricket games. in fact. Sheffield shield games theres only 1 man and his dog and apart from the ashes. Australia don't sell out their games for test matches.

What a ridiculous point, as a country we hold several stadiums over 40,000 for our national sport. The money nor the fan base is there to have several 40,000+ seater cricket grounds.

The oval is going through development which will end in a 40,000 stadium.

That's Bangladesh out of the tournament too

Gulf between the big 4 and the rest exposed again. It is 3 weeks until the semis and the next important match!

They might as well cancel the next set of fixtures and have a 2 week world T20 tournament before the semis

Hopefully we'll get good weather for the semis and the final as the group stage looks pretty wrapped up now.
