It's just a minority of Liverpool fans that go around saying they will breeze past Spurs when most people with common sense and some football knowledge understand it won't turn out like that.

As said, Spurs are a good side and are capable of beating anybody on their day. Just because they haven't been as consistent as they perhaps should have been domestically, doesn't mean they can't turn up and win it on the day, especially in a one off game. They have the ability to do it, just as much as Liverpool do.

Has anyone said it will be breeze on here, I just think we’re the better team and we’re win

Whether that’s by one goal or however many I don’t know.

Of course there’s no guarantees but I’m not gonna sit on the fence just because I’m gonna get massive recourse on here ffs, that’s the way it goes if we lose im afraid

Agreed 👍 if we lose we lose and will deserve all the criticism favourites get after losing.

The main reason spurs finished 26 points behind is because they had a massive injury list and were completely fatigued from trying to compete in 4 cimpetirions. When fit their first 11 can match City and Liverpool on their day. So...here we are 3 weeks rest for final. This one is evenly matched.

As another poster said im worried as they seem to be getting the results but id be very disappointed if we dont win as we do have the edge on quality. Particularly full backs, gk plus motivation from last seasons final

Oh yeah, I had forgotten that we had zero injuries throughout the season.

I personally have a horrible feeling that fate is on their side with the way everything has worked out. Last minute goal to qualify from the group when it wasn't even in their hands, last minute disallowed goal against City, 96th minute winner against Ajax.

This.
It has similar hallmarks to our victory in 2005
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Despite that nothing trumps our comeback against Barca. That gives us all the confidence we need. We had no chance, injuries and still made it.

True Kash, that was the single best comeback in the champions league ever.

We had to stop Barca scoring while scoring 4 ourselves. We did it.

The confidence that gave the team was immense. Allison was on top form as well.

As hulk says, it wasn’t. Eclipsed by Barca themselves.

But it was one hell of a turnaround..

PSG are European also rans.

Liverpool came back against Barca. They are not even close

You’ve got to account for the oppositions performance in the individual game as well though rather than just “it’s so and so”. Messi aside creating three chances for his team mates that at least one should have been converted, they didn’t play well, their defence especially.

Neither did PSG though, before you say it! Spurs against ajax was a very good comeback I thought.

comebacks are irrelevant.

this is a final.

For me this gap between games will hurt us more than spurs and i think this is now really 50/50

Barca had to score 6 goals, in a knock out stage of the CL. Never been done before and since. So yes, that was the biggest and best come backs of all times.

Still weren't playing v Messi..
Plus got 2 penalties and an own goal.

PSG are just crap as proven by Solskjaer turning them over.

LFC 4-0 Barca is the best performance to come back in the CL ever. To keep Barcelona to 0.

People that know football understand this.

Allows Firmino and Salah massive recovery time as well as VVD who has pretty much played every game.

One could argue Spurs were on a massive high after that last minute goal too.

I don't think the training for the three week break has any bearing on the result, both have plusses and minuses.

Liverpool don't do this sort of thing on a whim though, there's a science behind it, with some proper eggheads involved.

This is what Carragher is saying. That the gap breaks up Liverpool’s momentum, and allows out of form Spurs to regroup, rest and get injured players back.

Interestingly Klopp has taken ‘Pool players for a rest and warm weather training, whereas Poch has maintained the same U.K. based training regime we stick to during the regular season. Liverpool looked a bit dodgy after their last mid-season break, Dubai was it? Am hoping Poch’s method is the more sensible!😬
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well they did come back from 35 degrees Dubai and ended up playing Leicester at home in the snow and ice. If you recall the pitch was full of snow and ice despite our beat attempts to remove it from the kop end when attacking Leicester.

It’s not about the next game but conditioning till the end of the season.

As I said it’s not done on a whim there are specialists that have the data for this kind of thing.

LFC have, and I kid you not, theoretical physicists, maths doctorates, Astro physicists and even a CERN scientist to crunch numbers and make data driven decisions.

I don’t think we would have avoided muscle injuries as we have had with Klopps playing style were it not for these breaks.

I recall seeing posters commenting to say that Klopps style will result in fatigue and soft tissue injuries.

Found a way to counter that it seems.
