since FFP came into effect, R Madrid have had a net spend less than most of the smaller clubs in the premiership, let alone the big ones

Madrid's big spending splurge happened a decade ago, before FFP

Madrid are playing by the rules, City aren't

Won't stop Mad dog Khaldoon having a meltdown over it though, nor City fans following suit.

Khaldoon seems like a great owner to me. Congrats City fans.

This deadinthehead chap seems like a proper tw@

Here's on for Khaldoon.. told you about squad cost.

"City are also the most expensively assembled squad in history.

Pep Guardiola's group, which cantered to a record-breaking Premier League title last season and are hoping to see off Liverpool this year, cost £702m to assemble.

Their record buy of Riyad Mahrez in the summer, which was priced at just over £60million, helped them go above Real Madrid, whose squad cost £693m in total."

Puts into context Khaldoon talking about record transfer fees.. total misnomer.

Best season in 30 years, CL final coming up, all he can do is angrily spout nonsense about City. Proper Pool fan.

posted on 27/5/19

I guarantee that City's squad won't be the most expensive ever assembled this time next year.

Probably be about 4/5th behind RM, Barca, United and possibly Liverpool.

Why should the chairman of any club not defend them if somebody else is spouting nonsense about them? Only the dimmest of the dim would believe that they would not, but I see that one does.

The only one spouting nonsense is you.

Remember when you said the Spanish treat themselves as second class citizens in their own country?

Also if you noticed, which you didnt reply to, I pointedly took apart Khaldoons "other clubs are jealous" rant.

Really? You guarantee that? Ok then. Put it on headed paper and send it to UEFA

Tebas is a lifelong Real Madrid fan, well who would of guessed it
Hes angry because they cant get rid of Bale , whats he on £17 million a year, its all Citys fault that

posted on 27/5/19

Liverpools squad was 230million plus behind citys at the start of the season, incredibly unlikely. I know you will lose a few like mangala but peps already said he wants atleast 4 new signings inc a fernandinho replacement can see city spending 150-200m again easily.

City chairmen is right though fack these s crying about corruption and prem clubs the facking massive hypocrites, especially anyone with ties to madrid.

It doesn't matter because the spending by CIty has already reached extraordinary proportions over them time that the Sheikh has been in charge at City. Just because he might spend less one summer doesn't take away the fact teams like City and Chelsea have screwed up and helped to inflate the player prices so much that most clubs can't compete.

It's out muscling other clubs by spending more so that they can win a trophy or two.

I can't see this Sheikh who is shady as faaack, and his multiple companies that hide traces of him in any business transaction, will not spend big this summer.

I won't e surprised to see couple of massive signings at City. They were ran close by Liverpool who had to spend massive amount to do this, contrary tp what Klopp had declared to the world about while in charge Liverpool won't spend to win trophies.

It's all BS now. United, City and Liverpool now, are spending huge amount to win trophies.

Desperations at United and Liverpool while CIty are trying to stay ahead.

So he is being disingenuous saying Man City dont have a record signing in their ranks to point to City being non disruptive, they have the most expensive squad ever ffs.

Lets not pretend Everton Spurs Chelsea City Utd Arsenal all have bigger club record transfers than Liverpool until we signed VVD over a year ago either. We were the latest but a long way from the first.

posted on 27/5/19

VVD was worth it. When you have Khaldoons mob spending £50m on average players like Stones and Mangala, you have to just laugh at his protestations.

posted on 27/5/19

When even spurs are paying 42m for some kid cb from ajax and everton 45/50m on siggurdsson and 30m on pickford n keane you could argue 75m from vvd and 56m alisson after that were bargains yes.

He was directly referencing Tebas’s accusation that we were spending money on individual players at the top end that others can’t afford. Overall squad cost has nothing to do with it, that’s a separate argument, hence it being a different question.

Have you just made that up? Tebas didnt say that at all and you well know it.

Top players will always go for top prices, that has never changed. It's the spending of £50m on average players that he is talking about.

So yes overall squad cost is definitely part of that. Current city squad is £700m+
