i don't really get the hype around grealish.. don't think he has ever impressed me any time i have watched him (which admittedly isn't much).

i watched the playoff finals and he seemed over elaborate on the ball and not that creative.

don't get the hype.

Thought the same. Nothing i saw merited the level of demand from Villa on the transfer fee. It's all sentimental stuff like he's a Villa fan who is now captain and taken them back to Premier League and he's English.

I wouldn't go near the £30-40m price tag.

I’d 100% have him for £30m, would be a great value signing, think he’d do well in a top side - good at controlling the pace of a game, nice range of passing especially in the final third, high work rate, has leadership qualities, homegrown. Not saying we couldn’t do better, but for that money he’d be a bargain.

Fair enough if you've watched him. I'd say i've seen him 5 times in a full match and wasn't impressive when i did.

I have to agree, I made a point of watching Grealish in the play off final and whilst he has nice footwork, he didn’t really offer or create much. I’m not denying he’s a good player, but as an Eriksen replacement? No thanks. We can do a lot better than Jack Grealish, we are CL finalists ffs!!!! As a sub yes, but no way should we be spending 40mil on this guy.

well as an eriksen replacement its not acceptable. we would have to replace eriksen, and bring in grealish.

That Seri didn't exactly set the world alight at Fulham after the big money move. Cut price deal and see how he performs among better players?

£30m for Grealish or £60m for Lo Celso/Ndombele? Fancy foreign lad every day for me.

Not all that sure about Seri. I doubt they'd let him go cheap.

I think the logic with Grealish is that he has the potential to be a very good player, even if he isn't there yet.

Have him coached by Poch and surrounded by much better players and he's likely to improve.

He clearly has an ambition to play at the top level (the premier league for now) but the problem is he seems very loyal to Villa, so now that they have been promoted I'd say our chances of getting him are very very slim.

I think this is one of those signings that had to take place last summer - Villa short on cash and Grealish wanting to play for us to progress. Both of those things have changed (for the time being) so it looks like we are looking elsewhere.

Shame, I think he'll kick on.

What ever happens we’ll going to need to buy a couple HG players especially if we are going to move on players like trippier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Latest is that Napoli have pulled out of signing Trippier as they want a younger player. Must've had him confused with someone else all along

Course they could just be using tactics. Who knows. Latest is also that Betis will accept £60m for Lo Celso, Spurs have bid £12m for Jack Clarke and started the bidding for Ndombele at £30m

I saw him few times, and he's deffo skilled and technical player. But being young, he loses his focus on fighting and trying to inflict justice on opposition players.
Under the wings of Poch, he could be turned into a Dybala type of player. Of course, he's way off Dybala at the mo.

However, his ambitions must match too and right now, he's happy where he is and doesn't seem to be pushing for any move.

I think the £30m was what we wanted to offer last summer. No way we’d be starting with that now.

He’s going for probably double that and more

Definitely not Grealish. Wasting money unnecessarily. No better than what we already have ( eg Winks ) and certainly won't help close the gap on City and Liverpool.

exactly the reason I want to stay well clear of the Bournemouth lot
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some would argue Callum Wilson is a better option than Janssen or even Llorente

What do you say to that?

not at the £40m that Chelsea were quoted not so long ago!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You didn't answer the question.

PS: Chelsea get quoted at higher prices than us because everyone knows they are mugs and they'll pay it when they get desperate

Boooollocks gutter sites of course

The Ndombele £30m bid article did admit that the bid was laughably low
