Poll: Kane starts or not?

I really don't know.

On one hand he is one of the best strikers around and HAS to start, it would be madness not starting him.

On the other hand it would be great to have him come on with fresh legs around 60 mins if its a close game and could look like extra time and pens? That all depends how the game is going though, I mean it could be over by then and people will be saying he should have started.

I'll go with start Kane. He has to start.

Starts

Feels like this has been done before somewhere

Starts. In a game of probably few chances for us we need the ultimate finisher.

Starts, nobody on either side has played a competitive game in 3 weeks so match fitness isn't the issue it would normally be.

Lucas Moura and Son are ultimate finishers too.

Starts, limps off early, an unnecessary sub is used up prematurely

Such a tough call.

I believe Poch will start him (will be interesting who drops out)

I would have him on the bench, just would be a massive boost to see come on second half.

Bench..... Kane isn't gonna stop us being 2 down inside 20 mins (most of us agree that's our biggest fear) Get though the 1st 30 mins at worst level and in hot conditions with changes likely we give ourselves a ton of options

But there will be no complaints from me if he starts... Poch in a tough spot

Starts. He's not just recovered from injury, he's also had a proper period of managed training and rest. He'll be raring to go, and barely less match fit than the rest of the squad.

If he's fit and fully recovered - no doubt: Start him!

Any doubts, then Poch will have to weigh up risks/gains.

Bench

A front three of Moura Son and Alli got us through the semi finals, and I just don't see Kane being able to last 90 mins (+ ET possibly) so you know you'll have to sub him at some point and that's a waste.

So we have a great starting 11, and one of our best players on the bench to bring on if we need - that's win win for me.

But, if Poch starts him I'll still be very happy.

Both sides are in the same situation, Kane for Spurs and Bobby for Liverpool.

In our situation, if Bobby is fit he plays.

Off the bench please. 30 mins high impact plus injury time AND PENS if necessary

Bench.

Let the attack that destroyed Ajax unsettle their defence with pace, movement and fluidity. Then bring Kane on for whoever is most tired to finish off the chances that will come with the space left due to their tiredness.

I think Llorente had a hand in getting us through the semi finals yet don’t see anyone wanting him to start.

Yeah see what you're saying MK!

But Llorente wouldn't get into our best 11, whereas Kane would.

I guess just a big a question is, if Kane starts, who misses out?

Moura, Son or Alli?

Maybe or alternatively scores a hat trick and goes off on the hour to rapturous applause.

Let’s be honest all 3 were rubbish in semi final bar the last 40 mins and Son was rubbish for it all.

Personally I’m dropping dele from my line ups and going 433

Son. Plays better without Kane in the team and he's been on pants form anyway.

Well I'd certainly consider it, his ability to bring others into play has been invaluable in this CL campaign:

- Set up Kane's equaliser against PSV
- Scored all important third goal against Dortmund (from a set piece)
- Came on and scored all important third goal against City (from a set piece)
- Came on against Ajax and completely changed the momentum of the game for us again

Certainly shouldn't be dismissed in my opinion. Would be important to get Lucas and Son running off him though.

Bench for me.

But if a choice of Llorente or Kane to start, then Kane 100%

posted on 31/5/19

Looking at this, I'm glad I'm not in Poch's shoes

posted on 31/5/19

Best players for a CL final and Kane is simply the best striker in the world and our best player. If he’s fit, he starts end of story.

Ooft - more saying bench.
