He's got a point.
Imagine being a family member of the other person killed and seeing the guy who led to your loved ones death being glorified
Oooft it's a tough one.
147mph is extremely reckless but it's the ultimate price.
Didn't know that, if it's true that Reyes actions caused the death of another person then yes Canizares is 100% correct
i dont think he is wrong to be honest.
sure its sad that Reyes lost his life, but even sadder that someone else also lost theirs because of his actions.
if that was joe bloggs on the street people would be absolutely slating him.
this whole thing reminds me of when Ant Mcpartland got done for drink driving, many were backing him... feck that, he put other peoples lives at risk.
the other person who dies was his cousin jonathan reyes
the person seriously injured was another cousin
family tragedy caused by reckless driving
150mph ffs
Not sure if glorify is the right word but you can separate celebrating his life and thinking he's an idiot for his actions that led to his death.
Must admit though I'm surprised more media hasn't ran with the fact he was going 140+.
Is that confirmed? If so, I have to agree. Driving at that speed is inexcusable and puts others lives at risk.
If it was some chaav here driving his Fiesta ST in ridiculous speed and died there would be no sympathy so I guess he does have a point.
Ive seen 120mph up to 140mph reported.
The guy has backtracked a bit and considering all three were from the same family and travelling in the same car it's probably best to keep our own council on this one.
There is nothing positive.
spanish media:
"Según Mundo Deportivo, basándose en el atestado redactado por la Guardia Civil, en el lugar del accidente que provocó el fallecimiento José Antonio Reyes, el vehículo que conducía el jugador del Extremadura circulaba a 237 kilómetros/hora."
Reyes was the driver, and was travelling at 237km/hr when the accident happened ...that's nearly 150mph/hr
When the car was pictured in the news the other day it looked burnt out like it had been a fireball
It's all very well to mourn Reyes and extol his virtues as a footballer and what he achieved for Arsenal. But doing 120 in a 70 zone is totally stupid and irresponsible driving. If he had survived he would definitely be facing jail time for manslaughter. In short, Canizares is right. Reyes has destroyed the lives of two innocent passengers and this families.

Moron.
Awful situation for the family.
How has the speed he was driving been confirmed or calculated

This
Why are road legal cars able to do 150mph in the first place? 99.99% of roads have a speed limit of 70mph max.
Makes about as much sense as guns in the US.

??? Why is he a moron? Several Spanish papers are reporting that Reyes was doing 237km/hr.
I didn’t know the circumstances of the crash.
driving at 140MPH + on a public road and with passengers...
It is reprehensible. He isn’t a hero, far far from it. It is still sad that he died but he was the perpetrator that ruined at least two other lives.

Some people like to go to firing ranges, or clay pigeon shooting. It doesn't mean they should be let loose with guns running around the city centre. Exact same concept.
The first I actually learned of the speed he was travelling was when I looked it up online, all the news reports I've heard either on the radio/talksport etc or news has just said 'killed in a car accident'.
The only ones I feel sorry for and sympathise with are his poor family and friends, of his and his passenger, a young 23 year old man.
Feck Reyes, selfish idiot that could've killed countless others if he'd have caused a motorway pile up. Who actually thinks it's the first time he's gone that speed too?
