Wouldn't have hired him in the first place

Was never a utd manager

But he clearly wasn't backed months after being given a new contract

The fact we dint sign all the players Jose wanted, that doesbt mean Ed didnt try.

posted on 4/6/19

At worst he didn't try
At best he failed
And with his blocking of the martial off load he didn't get or give Jose what he wanted

Bottom line is he facked up from every perspective in his dealings with Jose post signing of the new contract up to the time he sacked him

What should Ed have done if the selling club refuse to sell or the player makes ridiculous demands? Let's not forget the stick Ed gets for Sanchez's contract.

You guys need to make your minds up.

What players are you talking about ?

how many players did he sign, especially CB's, last summer ?

Why did he block the sale of a player that his manager wanted ?

wanted sold ^

The players Jose was unhappy Ed couldn't get him.

Re Martial, maybe we couldn't get what we wanted for him. Maybe the agent talked Ed out of flogging him.

Do you think Martial should have been sold?

posted on 4/6/19

Ive already given you my thoughts on Jose so the answer to the martial question should be obvious.

However it's the manager who decides the make up of his squad at the end of the day and what I or Woodward think doesn't matter. Within months of giving Jose a new contract Woodward blocked the sale of a player he didn't want. That wasnt backing his manager

Put itn to the group but I'm pretty sure most would back Ed for not selling Martial.

What should Ed have done if Jose's targets were making crazy demands or their clubs refused to sell?

posted on 4/6/19

The point is ed didn't get the cbs Jose wanted last summer because he didn't try

You've made a point of highlighting the khoulabaly bid which was probably made when the relationship between Woodward and HIS manager was on better terms

There were no media reports of offers made for CBS last summer because the word is Woodward refused to go after Jose's targets and told him to work with the defenders he already had

Hence Jose's mood preseason and the start of the end game leading to his sacking

Woodward didn't back him last summer and should really have sacked him straight away once he went against him

Apart from the commercial side of things have you found anything Ed has shown himself to be competent at yet?

Nevermind the group we are talking about ed backing his manager. A manager he just given a new contract to.
Did he back him by selling martial yes or no ?

Anything yet on Ed doing anything competent other than commercial stuff?

posted on 4/6/19

Did he sign any CBS ?
Were there reports a la khoulabaly of offers made ?
Jose has since criticised the lack of support he received regarding signings
His mood last summer would explain this
Its widely accepted in the game that Jose didn't get the backing he wanted see Gary Neville

He wasnt backed regarding martial

So within months of giving his manager a lucrative multimillion contract extension he goes against him

Hes not competent and it's been proven time and again
