Either completely change the economic models that govern modern life or tweak it to make being green the most rewarding option by far.

That's the only way I see us standing any chance and it needs to happen yesterday

There is an inherent economic subsidy in fossil fuels that most are blind to, because the cost is environmental(+ cost to fix environmental damage) and it's payment date gets kicked down the road for future generations.

The European election showing a significant movement from conservative parties to green parties across Europe. This swedish girl Greta Thunberg initiated a discussion about the environment pollution across Europe. People demonstrating in the streets of Europe.

Time is running out. We need a change. Now.

In the meantime Britain discussing about Brexit.

I fear we're almost at that date now and have likely done more damage than can be fixed but it's still worth trying of course

On a related note there's some new data regarding how much plastic is making its way into our food, drink and air. This could also be a health time bomb about to explode

Free or close to free green energy could go some way to process pollution in air/water etc.

Ah well, it's been a good run - and at least some people got really rich before dying. So that's something.

Yeah agreed - let's say 3 cheers to the rich and the fat.

I say bring on global warming as for June it's bloody nippy. For every Polar Bear popping his clogs a Bermuda shorts dealer sells another pair. Swings and roundabouts really

Animals breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Trees and plants breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. Cutting down half the trees in the world is the problem. Re-plant the rain forests and we will be fine.

Just pretend it isn't happening and everything will be fine.

China is building coal fired power stations like they are going out of style, India doesn’t care about climate change either between them they havevover 2 billion people. The world population is heading towards 19 billion as all these countries instead on having more children. Given all this nothing more the UK (which is not the problem anyway) can do will make a blind bit of difference πŸ™„

* Typo, 10 billion not 19 billion - but it might as well be 19 billion for all the difference that we can make !

It's not like the industrial revolution that was created by descendants of England is the cause for all this.

Yea....Fook us.

What did the industrial revolution ever do for us.??

In that era there were one billion people on earth...now there are more than that in India or China.
In Africa and the middle East we will hsve 3 billion plus soon....so I wonder why consumer consumption has increased?

Can we tell India or China to stop industrialization ....or tell people in Africa or Palestine to have less kids?

Doubt the green party will ask.

So we are screwed.

If you read TBAB's comments then you don't have to read daily mail anymore..πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

So, how long does it took for "sane" industrialized western nations to completely ban CFC's use such as in aerosol sprays...πŸ˜€
