We definitely shouldn't bend over just because Real come knocking. Especially as we know they're desperate right now and we have a ban meaning that we can't replace Hazard this summer. That has to be reflected in the price.
At the same time I really hope that this doesn't drag out all summer. Hazard obviously wants to go and it's highly unlikely that he'll be a Chelsea player at the beginning of next season. I'm going to be tuning out of it anyway so it won't affect me

I don't want this to impact the relationship between the player and the club.
But i do think Madrid sometimes have an attitude similar to
"Do you not know who i think i am?"
They wouldn't let it be done to them (Robinho being an example) so why they think others should let them recreate the football equivalent of a scene from a Ray Winstone movie, always baffles me
Well it sounds like Marina is playing hardball Flash
Rumours just now £100m been agreed
What is ‘bending over’? The talk of it being close to £100m is a ridiculous fee even in this transfer market because of his age and contract situation - two massive contributors to a transfer fee.
I’ve always found this idea of clubs bending over for others in transfer negotiations to be a bit of a stupid concept.

It’s just my opinion, but I believe the player in question is the 3rd best player in the world. I think he improves any club team in the world so up until today rumour has it Madrid wanted to pay £86m, we’re saying no deal. I agree with the club.
£86m is still bloody good money in the circumstances. If Chelsea get any more they’ve pulled off a great deal.
And the point still stands about bending over.
Ed
I’d consider it bending over if Madrid didn’t budge and we just said “OK we’ll accept your offer”. Especially as Madrid are aware of our price.
As already said, they wouldn’t stand for it, so why should Chelsea?
I don’t expect you to agree with me, but my mindset isn’t going to change regardless of what is said, either.
Because Madrid had other options to sell Robinho, that’s how negotiations work.
You seem to be basing the idea of bending over based on some very flimsy reasoning, and lack of details over the negotiation positions of both clubs.
Chelsea have notoriously received transfer fees well above, what many perceived, market rate. ‘Bending over’ isn’t a concept in Chelsea’s psyche. And I question the whole concept in football transfer negotiations. It shows a really limited understanding of the process.
80 mil plus Isco would be a good deal.

At that time, they didn’t only Chelsea had bid or expressed any interest for him at that point. City was a last minute deal. So last minute that Robinho apparently did not even know who he’d signed for
And as for your limited understanding?
I’m saying I don’t want the club to accept Madrid’s first offer, not when it does not match what we’re asking for him. So I’d consider us just taking Madrid’s offer if they’re not prepared to budge as “bending over”.
No matter what you say or how you say it, you’re not going to change my mind. So let’s just agree to disagree.
It’s a lot of money for his age but Hazard is a player that can improve any side in the world?
So Real want so badly to get back to their dominance best and Hazard would be a cheery in the icing for them.
If only they could get rid of Bale and free up more cash
He’s cheery but meant to say cherry 🍒
I’m pretty sure it’s reached the stage where Chelsea have already turned down Real Madrid’s first offer.

I appreciate that.
But I hope Madrid don’t take the approach of “they’ll cave if we hold our nerve”.
Or more to the point If they do try that approach, I hope we don’t just take their offer, because it’s the best we’re going to get. I’d rather we did (whether you think its right or wrong) cut our nose off to spite our face.

I'd want us to play hardball just because I detest them - the most grotesque club in the world in my opinion.
They remind me of the playboy who has everything he could want and dates the most beautiful women in the world but that's not good enough for them. When they see the beautiful wife of another man, they just have to have them as well, because they can!
They disgust me!

I think that says more about the woman than the man im afraid, married but can be bought not a wife id want no matter what the fee. Someone said earlier that Hazard has plenty of suitors, that may be but hes not interested in others, hes not looking for an out hes looking for a move to his boyhood idol club i guess hed rather stay at Chelsea if real wont or dont want to pay for him, cant see him suddenly saying ok the City will do.
