Why not ? Does he want to be happy playing high level football still ? Then he will have to take a pay cut

Shock horror , he went to Madrid and won trophies. We need to move on. These comebacks don’t usually work

Pray to God the Bale thing never happens.
We need young vibrant, energetic upcoming players not 30 year old has beens on ridiculous wages.

If he has been pulling up trees maybe but recently he has been average at best.

This.

Not always

For example the Alves transfer could propel us to the next level with his vast experience as a winner and could be the transfer coup of the summer. Do just because a player is too old does not equate to a bad move from the club.
👍

I would take Bale for a number of reasons. It may not work out as with any other player but it would be exciting knowing what he's capable of, and would reassure me that we're prepared to make a big signings of proven world class players.

Doubt Southampton could afford him

How are we even talking about bringing Bake home?

Even if RM paid half of his wages, he’ll still be on £300k a week!!

Can’t see the logic in breaking the wage structure.

#Free Bale , I'd love to see this happining.

Stick to Lo Celso mate
Young with promising future that he’ll develop under Poch. We get him for a reasonable price.

Seems RM backtracked on Ceballos and are trying to ram Bale our way?

Anyway he’s not coming back, his agent when asked about it replied “I don’t comment on rubbish”.

The guy is on about £600k a week, the pay cut would be enormous. We wouldn’t even pay half of that. And the fee being touted is £60m. Since when does Levy lay out £60m on a 30 year old that has no resale value?? You’ve only got to cast an eye over these reports to see they are utter made up fantasy garbage. He will 100% not be coming back to Spurs this summer or ever again, people need to get over it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That’s the logical view I am afraid

We all get excited about Bale but we need to be realistic and concentrate on what we can get that is within our means and would still allow us to make the jump to the next level

Bale would be great if we had oil money to spend but as we are - we simply need to get key deals over the line and improve. Would hate it for us to play players like Ndombele and Lo Celso only for them to be offset by key sales and end up same position depth wise.

Would he come as part of some swap deal for Eriksen?

posted on 16/7/19

We ain’t signing anyone else Ace anyway until Eriksen is sold. Like I told you, we are not signing Lo Celso, Ceballos and all these players mate, so we might aswell live in fantasy land with Bale. I don’t believe for a second we are getting Bale, my argument is Spurs fans dismissing it like we are this majorly successful club, it’s ridiculous

I think if we announced the signing of Bale most fans would be excited. But yes I don't believe it'll happen either. Only real possibility is a swap for Eriksen, though that won't cover his huge wages. If Zidane directly told him he's not in his plans anymore maybe he'd be willing to move somewhere else with his wages slashed, but for what Spurs would offer him? Doubtful.
