Let's hope so DD, we should be aiming to catch Liverpool which I think we can with a couple of signings (NDombele, New RB, etc) but not if they sign Mbappe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Liverpool won CL and lost just 1 game in the league. I think they've hit their capacity. Its a matter of those around improving rather than Liverpool extending gap themselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah 90-100 points needed to challenge the top two

That's an incredible amount. Any silly losses like Burnley etc then we can forget it.

I'm incredibly bored at work so I'm going to type this long comment so it looks like I'm busy.

Anyway, my fav top 5 Spurs transfers;

1. Teddy Sheringham (92/93) - He was my fav player growing up.

2. Jurgen Klinsmann (94/95) - The hype around this guy and as a young boy I was so excited! I remember reading the paper about it while I was on holiday.

3. Robbie Keane (02/03) - I played championship manager and knew he was exceptional on that game and always signed him so I was super excited when we announced this one.

4. Gareth Bale (07/08) - I followed his progress at Southampton and seen a lot of his great free kicks and knew we had signed a good player.

5. Rafeal van der Vaart (10/11) - Last minute super signing! When transfer deadline day use to be fun. What a coup this was, Spurs were really starting to head in the right direction and what a great impact from the very off.

Anyone else have any favorite signings?

I don't think they need to have shown interest before. They act on the spot at times and if they come in it means they've got the means to fund it. PSG and Real Madrid are automatic titles too with the salary to match anyone else. We need a deal before others step in

We could do with an Adebayor in the squad. Only the loan version though

Ace - I fogrot about Ginola! Would replace him for Bale in my list.

Yep I was excited for Rebrov too and Soldado.

Soldado was definitely one I was excited about. I thought we'd finally found our 20+ goal a season striker.

I was also excited when we signed Giovani Dos Santos. I thought no way have we landed a Barcelona prospect!

Same with GDS. Looking back they mugged us right off

Everyone thought Soldado was our 20+goal striker...when we signed him if someone told you he would fail and a young boy in the reserves called Harry Kane will turn into the best striker in Europe and score 20+ goals each season yo would have thought the guy was smoking crack.

Nobody could have predicted that. Kane showed absolutely nothing to suggest he would turn out to be the player he is now. I thought he'd end up bottom PL or top Championship at best.

It was absolutely insane which made it all the more sweeter. When he terrorized Chelsea on new years day

I agree, I thought he was championship at best.

1. Same. When he left for Man United I was absolutely crushed.

2. Same. Remember reading shoot (or match?) about it.

3. Ginola. Lessened the loss of Teddy signing him and Ferdinand. Ginola was incredible. The shining beacon in an otherwise terrible team. Just had my season ticket at that time and it was worth it just to see him play.

4. Same. What a player. Could singlehandedly win us games.

5. Loved VDV but as he's the same era as Bale I'll go for a more recent player. Dembele. Possibly the best player we've had in my time although he didn't always show it. Watching him was a joy. Strength and guile. Always felt we were going to boss the midfield and therefore give us a great chance of winning when he was playing

Oh wait - just realised you meant the actual signing of them

Don't remember the signing of Sheringham. The first signing I remember was Jurgen.

Most memorable signings for me:

Klinsmann
Ginola
Defoe
Lloris - was quite the coup I felt
VDV - was amazing TDD drama and he didn't disappoint.

Actually come to think if it neither do i

I was thinking of the pony kit launch with him holding that blonde bird in the purple pony kit...can't remember her name?

posted on 20/6/19

Yeah was surprised you could

I know the pic you're talking about. I loved that purple pony kit. Remember entering a competition in Spurs Monthly to win one The answer was Chris Armstrong
