No harm in a loan for a young player with upside but I do worry about where the clubs priorities are at right now

I'd be delighted. Might not be the only signing. Sure in an ideal world where various players were available this wouldn't (from the looks of him) be the first choice, but a skilful midfielder can always add a lot of value imo. Bring him on

first choice as in position-wise.

Still feels like a real cheap skate move to go after Fernandes rather than his teammate luis who actually fills a need for us
