Last time we hired a DoF, it was an absolute disaster.
The manager/coach knows where we need improvements. Let him pick the players, and go to Levy for approval.
Pretty facking simple if you ask me.

Boooorrrinnnnnggg.
Our football and our transfers
Btw its only worth having a DOF if we have a ton of money which we don't. So when people keeping losing their heads screaming Levy out(which is hilarious btw, especially by keyboard warriors) they are absolutely wasting their breath.
We have a model which is based on being self sufficient which in the current FFP climate is the right way to operate, not to mention the small matter of the new stadium build.
FYI notice how the other so called big clubs are not spending at the moment..

I'd argue having a DoF is more important when you are operating on a smaller budget. Having football people at the club and a proper recruitment structure let's you find good players at good prices.

To my knowledge we have Steve Hitcham, Pleat lurking in the corridors next to Levy's office. If it meant getting in the Lille DOF to get their in demand midfielder and striker I and am sure other fans might like that. You could also argue having a DOF is also like having a get out of jail free card for Levy. If the signings turn out bad the DoF takes the hit especially when results go Pete Tong. Baldini springs to mind....

What agenda? You're blindly defending Daniel Levy because of a stadium build. He has clearly neglected the core purpose of Spurs which is football.
There is self-sufficient and then being a tight cvnt and lying to his managers about player transfers.
He obviously gets a kick out of being considered some master negotiator. Doesn't need to be in the media talking to have an ego.

Coutinho joined liverpool when he was 20 for £12m in 2013
They sold him when he was 25 for £131m in 2018
Eriksen joined us when he was 21 for £12m in 2013
We're about to sell him at 27 for about £17m in 2020

could have at least haggled close to 100 for him to a club abroad. coutinho is the more talented player but it is a shame for us that Barca or Madrid didnt chase Eriksen like Barca did with him. There were rumours that PSG were after Eriksen at one point, its fair enough wanting to keep him but if hes not signing an extension you dont let the players rot. not rocket science
Obviously Eriksen had lost faith in our club improving somewhere down the line. He was either not given what he felt he was worth during his peak from Levy or saw that we quite frankly will never invest enough to become genuine challengers.
Ramsey left on a free and that was pretty much similar with Arsenal going into a decline and he jumped ship with a massive pay check at the end of it.
The Eriksen situation was unfortunate.
He was honest with the club last summer that he wanted to leave, it's just that no one (at the level he was hoping for) actually wanted to buy him. That left the club and the player a bit scuppered...
It's sad to see him giving so little recently, not a nice note to end on, but overall he was phenomenal for us and there's no doubt that we'll miss his quality (before this season!)
