Can anyone on here, tell me who and why was Gedson Fernandes signed? I am still not sure if his signing has helped us at all?
Because we had an injury crisis and it looked like Sissoko would miss a lot of games, so Gedson was a quick fix to provide us some legs in midfield for cheap + keep a super agent happy
Southampton had the second worst home record and third best away record in the league this season. Mad.
Gedson looks so out of his depth in the Premier League..... you can see why West Ham were so keen on him from the start...... He's perfect for them
he's barely played ffs
I think Gedson is completely different to Sissoko from what ive seen and hes been utilised out of position when he has played. I dont get the signing either but he could be a great player
he's barely played ffs
=====
That's because he is unsuitable to the system we play under Jose.
Astonishing really!
I am sure we were after Bruno Fernandes and it was a toss of the coin which club he would join, and out of blue, the club announced Gedson Fernandes!
I wonder if there is more to this story.
get over Bruno Fernandes ffs he might have been holding out for United all along

It isn't about that?
I am asking why did we sign Gedson? What purpose? Is Jose thinking Gedon is going to be key next season? I don't think so.
“ That's because he is unsuitable to the system we play under Jose.”
He’s absolutely to the system Jose plays, he’s just not good enough / hasn’t been given a run of games.
The deal was pretty smart at the time though

Gedson was a classic Levy panic buy.
Can’t we send him back anyway?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We probably could but why would we?
He doesn’t take up a squad place due to being under 21, he allows someone like Skipp to go on loan without leaving us short in the middle.
It’s also as Edin said keeping a super agent happy atm

Oh, good to hear something positive for the lad, I think he is talented but lost in some games we played in.
The deal surely is only "smart" because the lad was keen and wanted out of his club.
However, I saw him play and it looked like Jose just needed a body in there and threw the lad onto the pitch!.
Hoping this is a disservice as I would like to feel like we don't just buy anyone for the sake of it!
I wish Gedson didn’t have that surname in common so muppets would stop bringing it up
We've been told the money is tight and we all know how tight is Levy, then I remembered Gedson and couldn't work out what was the plan for him?
There is no logic in some of the transfers we have been involved imo.
Our buying policy is like someone goes to Hackney Sunday market and grabs a trash for £5 in the hope of making a few kilings!
Bruno Fernandes would have been a great but unrealistic and probably unwise buy. Spending £54m on a position we are well stocked in wouldn’t make any sense.

They will be linked because they are both Portugese with the same surname, and at the time, United were going for Bruno, and we ended up with Gedson!
Gedson was a cheap quick fix to fill the gap left by Sissoko. That is all it is, made sense at the time.
Spending £54m in Bruno when we have a lot of players competent/very good in the final third - and then neglecting DM and RB would have been stupid and the kind of thing a 13 year old does on FIFA
Yeah, I don't buy into Bruno at all.
The narrative about spending money is the one I am trying to find out.
We have so many players including Skipp who could have played instead, when Sissoko was injured and yet we went out and got a kid from Portugal to fill Sissoko's place, instead of getting a creative midfielder or a replacement for Kane?
Like I said it's not Bruno I am talking about here!
Spursy af!
i am happy for Gedson to start playing more and eventually replace Sissoko in our squad. Looks to have quality on the ball at least

==============
Take away the spending of £54m, that's exactly what we have done in the last transfer - ie we neglected DM and RB covers
Maybe your just too blind to see it
could we put a buy back on the Foyth sale
