After reading Hengy's post on goals and assists last season, its obvious there is a lack of contribution from midfield, can we rely on Ndombele, Lo celso, Lamela , Dele to provide enough for next season, realise it was Lo celso first, and the circumstances around Ndombele, but I believe we should be looking for a playmaker, AM, who can provide more than we are getting atm, can anyone convince me otherwise
Sorry to hijack this but can we vote for one of our own, as player of the month please

Ndombele should play in that position.
If he got more games he would have great goals and assists stats imo
We should get rid of Lamela and look at a long term upgrade for him.

Well the manager also favours Sissoko and Winks who offer no assists or goals. I feel the former could contribute a lot more in a better system and alongside a very good dm

It's only the 1st seasons for GLC and Ndombele. I would have hoped to see better from them in the second season anyway. Ndombele we'll have a better idea about next season how much of a future he has at the club.
Lamela I agree should be sold. Not so sure we'll be doing that based on the other more pressing matters we have going, sadly. The same should apply to Dele if he doesn't start improving.

Would argue that is important, not sure of the stats, but like 70% of our goals coming from 2 players who happen to have been injured for large parts of the season

Don’t be dumb (I know that’s a struggle) we’ve been addressing all the holes in the squad and are now away to address DM/RB. Yes two seasons ago we should have signed players but since the summer of 2019 we have actually spent a lot of money on players with barely any players being sold out for any money.
The reason we opted with Gedson over Skipp is because the former had played a full season of professional including playing in the CL and Europa. It’s pretty straight forward.

Tbf to Dele he scored 8 goals and got 4 assists in 21 starts last season which is very good for a midfielder. It is one league goal less than Firmino who started 34 games.

Yes, in a nutshell
It's because Levy won't just open his wallet anytime we need players and that's obvious when he failed to do so at the height of Spurs push for a trophy.
We are now being linked with Brooks, so hopefully, we are buying the type of players that can hit the ground running.
Also I would hate for us to win league cups and finish 8th every season. Football is meant to be enjoyable - I would much rather turn up and enjoy what's in front of me every week than endure horrible football and results with a flukey insignificant cup

yeah but same old whinging Hugo
Would be nice to get back to buying some young English players who might really embrace the opportunity to play for a big club in the Premier league. Regardless of their success with other smaller clubs, having some premier league experience would be a plus. I don't see any problem with buying players who have come from teams that might have been relegated or played in the Championship/ League 1.
I look at NDombele sometimes and just looks like a fish outta water. Looks like he came here coz we paid what Lyon wanted and he got massive wages
Look at how the likes of Kane, Dele, Rose, Walker, Dier, Dembele developed without being fancy names/ big transfer fees

If Kane can have an injury free season then he'll add 10 or more goals on last season.

Wouldn't say I'm optimistic about him next season, as for starters like you say, I don't even know how much Mourinho rates him to give him games. If he got fit and played though then I do believe there would be a steady improvement. Obviously if he doesn't play then we'll never see any improvement.
I just want to see the whole team improve, whether that involves Ndombele contributing or a new player coming in and cementing his place in midfield.

Ndombele should play in that position.
If he got more games he would have great goals and assists stats imo
We should get rid of Lamela and look at a long term upgrade for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But as I said can we rely on him, dont think so, and Lo celso has not been producing much either
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's only the 1st seasons for GLC and Ndombele.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would argue that is important, not sure of the stats, but like 70% of our goals coming from 2 players who happen to have been injured for large parts of the season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we can get a decent DM Winks will provide a load of assist

After reading Hengy's post on goals and assists last season, its obvious there is a lack of contribution from midfield, can we rely on Ndombele, Lo celso, Lamela , Dele to provide enough for next season, realise it was Lo celso first, and the circumstances around Ndombele, but I believe we should be looking for a playmaker, AM, who can provide more than we are getting atm, can anyone convince me otherwise
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbf to Dele he scored 8 goals and got 4 assists in 21 starts last season which is very good for a midfielder. It is one league goal less than Firmino who started 34 games.

Spending £54m in Bruno when we have a lot of players competent/very good in the final third - and then neglecting DM and RB would have been stupid and the kind of thing a 13 year old does on FIFA
==============
Take away the spending of £54m, that's exactly what we have done in the last transfer - ie we neglected DM and RB covers
Maybe your just too blind to see it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don’t be dumb (I know that’s a struggle) we’ve been addressing all the holes in the squad and are now away to address DM/RB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe you are the dumb one
My question is in relation to your last comment. Did we address the issues of RB in the last transfer - when we signed Gedson?
Clue: it's not yes!

I'm confused, are you upset that we didn't spend 3.8m on a right back instead of gedson?

Yes, in a nutshell
It's because Levy won't just open his wallet anytime we need players and that's obvious when he failed to do so at the height of Spurs push for a trophy.
We are now being linked with Brooks, so hopefully, we are buying the type of players that can hit the ground running.

Also I would hate for us to win league cups and finish 8th every season. Football is meant to be enjoyable - I would much rather turn up and enjoy what's in front of me every week than endure horrible football and results with a flukey insignificant cup

I can see more goals come from GLC and Bergwijn (forgot to mention him) next season, and Ndombele too if he gets a good run of games and becomes the player we were expecting when we bought him. Hopefully we'll get Wilson or someone as back up for Kane who can chip in with a few.
If Kane can have an injury free season then he'll add 10 or more goals on last season.

Sorry mate... Just don't understand the optimism re NDombele having some blinding season next year... just blind faith & hope as far as I can see. Jose Doesn't rate him and he doesn't look physically capable for the Prem
At some point you have to accept if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...... He's a duck.... He's all hype
