Why would Benfica give away their top scorer from last season on loan?

Apparently we’ve sent a contract offer to Milik and just sorting out the transfer fee with Napoli now.

Also Levy apparently sorting out a loan deal for Bale.

So next week we will be signing that striker from Metz and will play Son ahead of him when Kane needs a rest.

Even the Sky commentators couldn’t figure out what formation we were playing yesterday.

Fed up of seeing Levy in the canteen

Lloris

Dier - Alderweireld - Tanganga

Doherty - Hojbjerg - Ndombele - Sessegnon

Lo Celso - Son

Kane







It's not perfect but:

- makes the most of players like Doherty and Sessegnon who are better going forwards,

- works with the fact that both Hojbjerg and Ndombele are shuttlers rather than proper DMs (which functions better with 3 CBs behind them)

- gets Lo Celso in a more advanced position to pull the strings with Doherty getting up the flank outside him

- protects Alderweireld's lack of pace as he can take the ball out of defence as a ball-playing CB with quicker CBs covering (Sanchez could come in for Dier if needed), and

- if a different tack is needed, Bergwijn could come in for Lo Celso and it becomes a proper 343 with wingers, like Wolves play.




I don't think Mourinho likes 3 at the back, though.

All these Sorloth rumours worry me. He didn't score a single PL goal in 16 appearances for Palace. Surely this can't be the player to come and improve us?!
