Arent we right on the foreign player limit again so if we signed someone without selling we'd have to leave a player like sissoko or aurier out?
I only count 16 non HG in the squad right now
Think 17 is the limit so 1 under it then

Nuno’s desire to bring in Adama Traoré after the Spain forward performed so successfully under him at Wolves could be the kind of signing that reignites Tottenham’s forward line as they bid to win a first trophy since the League Cup in 2008 under Juande Ramos. Fail to deliver and Kane will be knocking at Levy’s door once again.
Interesting take.
ONE MORE SIGNING

To be fair Adama did develop enormously under Nuno. He was a total waste of talent before, at Boro/Villa. Even if he's still a bit wasteful he came on absolutely leaps and bounds at Wolves.

I really want to reiterate regarding Adama - the issue with rating him on basic G+A stats is it’s so dependent of the quality of those who surround him.
Last season his xG per 90 was roughly the same as Rashford, Son, Salah, Mane etc but statistically it looks like he is way less creative because he is passing to Willian Jose and Silva who basically struggle to score. Even this season Wolves have an xG of 2.84 (higher than spurs) and haven’t scored yet

When you put it like that I see why we are going for him.
Could be similar to how Mane went up a level from Southampton to Liverpool.
I've just tried to watch a few clips of him to make sure I'm not misunderstanding. I managed the first three minutes of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRgSis8sej4
He puts in two good crosses. Literally every other time, he runs past a few players, head down, and then realises he has nowhere to go or doesn't know what to do with it. He's just a speed merchant who can dribble - I can't see any inventive play there. Can he play a passing game?
I really don't know about this one. Just seems so one dimensional and ineffective. I'd so much rather we gave Bergwijn / Gill their chance, and improved the central midfield.
I'm probably wrong, I hope I am. Maybe he'll be brilliant and add some excitement to the team. if Nuno wants him then great
(But what happens when his speed goes as he gets older?)
He is one of, if not the best ball progress or/take on artist in the game. His crossing is a bit below average but fine, his finishing isn’t great.
His positive attributes though are just so high though

I get that he has a lot of qualities, I'm not saying he's a bad player, but if he takes the ball from the halfway line to the goal line, beats a few players, but then panics and doesn't do much with it, what is really the point?
In your own words, we're paying £40m for an attacking player who has "below average crossing" and whose "finishing isn't great". Does that not seem a little ridiculous to you?!
Not for me because his upside is so high. He isn’t the best crosser or finisher but due to sheer natural ability he can create those situation 3-4 times more than the average player. By law of averages output is inevitable albeit frustrating.
If he does end up getting better at crossing and shooting - he’ll be performing at Messi/Ronaldo levels

This is the thing. He can get away with being a mediocre crosser because he's able to put in 3x as many crosses because he beats his man so reliably. He's a weird player - he's just a few percentage points, in terms of consistency and composure, away from being an absolute world-beater

Another thing is that his ball carrying when countering is gonna produce a lot of 3 on 3s and 3 on 2s for us and Kane and Son are so ridiculous that they don't need much more than that.
They don't need adama to provide an inch perfect pass to slide them through one on one at that point - they're gonna be able to get a shot off that you're happy with them taking because of how elite they are at converting low xg chances.

We're left with another Sissoko. Meme player who's impossible to shift
Oh. They've said no deal anyway.
