I'd be shocked if they spent 50m or less, i'd expect there to be an uproar that even Kroenke wouldn't be able to ignore if that happens.
They've been battling to keep their status for a while now and theyve been losing the battle however i think theyve still got enough to be ahead of Lesta and Wolves etc atm. But that could easily change by the time the transfer window is shut.
Finished 2 points off third a year after finishing 14 points off 3rd.
The £50m estimate will be well short , just as it was last season.
Despite all the praise you have thrown on the others, they havent shown signs of great improvement from the previous couple of seasons (obviously Wolves is an exception as it was their first season back up). Strange that they all finished so far behind Arsensl despite all having superior squads and no European involvement.

Top 4 is what matters.

Well i think we all expect the Ropey league to be their best chance at CL footy again next season.

Correct but there is a "big 6" this is in relation to that grouping and Arsenal's ability to remain one of the big 6.

I didn't say they all have superior squads, there's not much in it now is the point of the article and to be fair you have since lost your best midfielder.
Everton They're like a worse Utd, spunking money all over but going nowhere.
With the 50m estimate doing the rounds about Arsenal it does seem worrying.
Look at that squad and current prices it would be very difficult to get the players in you need. If that estimate is well off then this article will look very silly but it does seem to be the number from most of the reputable sources.

we will still finish above all of those you've listed
Fair and balanced comments Ace, i would agree with most of that especially on Leicester being the best positioned.
Emery is a good manager but it's a incredibly difficult job as it is but if the owner isn't going to back him with decent money this summer he's on a hiding to nothing.
6th place is there for the taking and I hope next season someone takes the chance.
Everton are a mile way imo from ever getting above their beloved 8th. At their very best they are a good side but no more than that and although they have a few decent players the rest are fairly average.
Leicester potentially could if they hold on to their best players and can convince the likes of Tielemans (probably butchered that) to sign on a permanent deal. Will be interesting to see how Rodgers does with them with a full pre-season / transfer window. My doubts would be over the quality of their defence.
Wolves have a very solid first XI but beyond that is where we struggle and need to improve which I'm sure we will over the summer. Playing in the qualifying rounds for the Europa League could also have a bearing on the upcoming season. We need to be beating the relegation candidates instead of putting up a poor record like last season (7pts from 18 against the bottom 3) but we're in a great place with a fantastic manager and owners who only want to increase the clubs standing.

It would not surprise me.
I think it will be much more difficult than it has been previous as your team needs work and funds supposedly are limited.

Chelsea losing their manager, best player and have a transfer ban.
United have a manager out of his depth and a recent history of wasting money on crap.
Both have volatile squads.
Both have recent history of finishing outside the top 6.
Neither showed improvement on last season unlike Arsenal.
Not sure we are the only ones people should be looking at.
There was a "50m" budget last year, which was proven incorrect. It's just media bs trying to get a reaction from our sensitive fanbase.
Our squad is average admittedly but Chelsea's, Spurs' and Utd's aren't particularly good either. As for those below us they will need to improve significantly. I think people underestimate the gap.

we need a cb and a couple in midfield and our team is far stronger than any of theirs, Only reason we didn't get top 4 is because our players bottled it not because they are weak, all it would have taken would be 1 win from that shocking run we had at the end of the season
I think the budget is worked out on net spend average of the last few years - of which Arsenal have one of the highest.
*medias guess at our budget.
If ozil decides he wants to play football again we wouldn't even need that much
I doubt it will be £50m tbh. You heard bleating about £40m last summer and yet they spent more than City.
Midfield and defence is woeful though. Wouldnt surprise me to see Wolves come above them and/or Utd next season. Everton in with a shout if they can find consistency.
injuries ransacked our defense and midfield just needs someone to create anything

Agreed, but both of those clubs have money to close any gap. I think the risk is greater than falling out of the top 6 for 1 season and is actually longer term about no longer being one of the top 6.
Arsenal are unique in their position of having a squad that needs a fair bit of work, an owner that doesn't invest much, Europa League football.
Spurs are the closest comparison have better players, seemingly more money to spend and a new stadium to reap the benefits from and Champions League next season.
