Tell us how it works then. Dont be shy

Well for a start the bid is a contract. Numerous sub sections involving everything from image right, payment schedules, agent fees, taxation, bonuses and so on. I really cant be assed to start from ground zero though tbh.

I think its just better to accept it takes a bit of time to put a multimillion pound bid together rather than someone checking a petty cash tin marked 'transfers' and a bid saying "wE wIlL gIvE yOu fIfTy miLlIon fOr yOuR pLaYeR" on the back of a cigarette packet.

And that would take senior execs and their lawyers how long to put together?

Would guess a few days, given how long it usually takes football teams to put in a second bid.

I just checked and you can actually just download a template online and simply write 'please sell us Aaron for £50m' in the subject title so I owe you an apology.

Sorry.

Iv just spoken with a solicitor and he says writing a 2nd bid could take anything upwards of 7 weeks due to the complexity of adding 25% to all the figures from the first bid.

This lad is a defender first, doesn’t do a great deal going forward however has the athleticism to add that to his game.

None. But why would you need a contract sealing the deal until you have agreed terms?

Contracts are usually issued early in negotiations. This is basic stuff

What are yoy trying to achieve by posting equally stupid scenarios?

Another genuine question!

Hasn’t it only been a day since the first bid? Maybe 2 days?

I'm doing it to emphasise my point that submitting a second bid isnt as complicated a process as has been suggested.

True.

Just thought this whole debate started by someone asking why it had taken so long (according to sky sources) to make a second bid (if true).

It’s only been a day anyway.

I was questioning Skys claims United are preparing a 2nd bid, and questioned ehatbdegtee of preparation would have to go into a 2nd bid.
