What’s odd about this is Celtic would have out feelers our before making a bid so there’s clearly some bad faith somewhere here and Celtic are right to tell them to GTF if they’re being played.

Somewhat surprising I would have thought.

Surely the lad has to be reasonable in his demands at his age and first team experience however talented he is.

The CB recruitment is the more meaningful and more interesting. Remember we got VVD for £2.6m from Groningen and now (as somebody said) inflation in transfer fees means you're having to spend £7m+ to recruit quality. Here's hoping.
