👀👀👀😒🙁😨🤯
In the email, distributed around 10 minutes before Wan-Bissaka’s transfer was made official, Woodward wrote: “Despite the inflated nature of the transfer market and constant speculation and stories, which can be misleading, the recruitment team - in conjunction with the manager (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) - are working calmly behind the scenes to bring in other exciting players that fit their long-term vision for the club.”
I believe him, still a tw@t though.
Great news if true.
I'd happily accept a few seasons of 7th if we played fast, exciting football with youngsters gaining valuable experience together.

That he’s (partly) responsible for?
Why is this idiot still at the helm?
It's the Juve execs fault more so than Ed's

It's exactly why we need a DOF, Ed probably thinks real life footy is FIFA. Hoard expensive players and you'll eventually get results.
The most promising thing about the quote is that he said OLE AND THE RECRUITMENT TEAM are working on the transfers.
It sounds like something may have changed where the football men are making decisions and Ed/Matt negotiate the prices.

Because the buyer doesn't need to pay if he doesn't agree with the seller's price.
If you're saying it is relevant, you are saying that Ed is at fault for paying the price set as no one forced him to pay it.
You do understand it, right?
This "internal email" story is very much a PR story. We had similar stories when Mata and Sanchez were signed and how Ed managed to get them done. It's and exercise in back slapping and trying to take the sting out of the Glazers out campaign that has been gathering pace on twitter.

Ed was trying to back the manager by delivering his target, but he didnt WANT to pay what Juve were asking, hence the protracted negotiations.
Juve and the agent distorted the market by setting the price so high. We contributed by paying it.

If we buy Maguire I’ll be absolutely mortified. He’s a £15m player the English media has hyped up to be something he’s not.
It doesn’t distort the market at all by setting a ridiculously high price for something, unless someone is stupid enough to pay it. I could go on EBay and list something for £500 even though all the others on there are selling for less. If no one pays it I’d be forced to reduce it not sell it all. If some idiot pays it, everyone else would start upping theirs to £500 too.
