Yeah but the op is pretty wide of the mark when citing a galactico strategy and striking similarities with Queen Kenny’s business at Liverpool.
In terms of the strategy this summer I don’t think it’s all domestic as Ben Yedder and Bruno Fernandes look like being targets as well.
We obviously aren’t signing facking McGinn for £50m so it’s a bit of a pointless thing to look at.
It remains to be seen which players we get are United quality, AWB certainly looks it, but I’d disagree all the players we’ve been signing are very good players. A lot of them haven’t been which is why we are in this mess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Queen Kenny!
We also didn’t sign just British players, we signed Suarez.
Yes I know. Basically the striking similarities are we both signed some British players.

If we had to pick players from the other team I’d only take: De Gea, Shaw, Pogba, Martial, Rashford & Mata (purely sentimental reasons)

I'd take AWB and Lukaku as well.

Why would you take AWB out of interest?
Don't you think RJ will be as good if not better once he's broken though?
After all, Yoonited were sniffing round him to see if there was a chance before they defaulted to WB!
Never seen RJ play so i don't know how good he is/will be. Seen AWB many times and he looks the real deal.
I don’t think there was anything in those rumours, Brummie. AWB has clearly always been our first choice for right back.
Believe me TLLL, he's good. I personally think he'll be nudging Dave out this season. Forget Hudson Odoi, he's the jewel in the crown of our academy!
I'd personally take him over WB myself!
Depending on how his injury as affected him of course!

From what I was hearing Darren, OGS was keeping tabs on him last season when he was on loan at Wigan and wanted to offer 15m for him!
At that price it would have been the steal of the century!
They might have been keeping tabs, but it’s a stretch to claim that we defaulted on AWB when it had been obvious for a while he was our main target for rb.
Heard good things about James in the championship. Will be interesting to see how he steps up to the premier league.
England have some highly rated young right backs now. Trent, AWB, James and that lad at Norwich. Frustrating for England it’s all in the same position.

Plenty of fluidity there though to work around it in the national set up if they all become too good to leave out.
Bissaka would probably look good at a CB (especially in a back three), Trent could probably play LB and anywhere across the midfield just as effectively while Reece could play across the back four and in CM.
So feesably all three could play if It came to it.
Why was it obvious that WB was your main target?
I heard about OGS coveting James weeks ago, before end of the season.
I'd heard nothing about the WB interest before last week!
Because we’ve been scouting him since last season. Mourinho was interested in him due to how well he played against and the other big teams when he first broke through.
D11, possibly but the issue with that is if they are all playing rb at club level it’s unlikely they’ll be shoehorned into other positions for England. Good options to have it they can all maintain form/progress as they have been.

Could you imagine the bust-ups between the three sets of fans on here if that position becomes a genuine battle between the three?
We've been listening to different sources then Darren!
Liverpool and United fans were already arguing over TAA and AWB just because we’d been linked with him.
Wasnt one of kennys signings suarez ? Another just captained us to two cl finals in a row and lifted one?
Besides if my memory is correct it was david comolli as director when our new owners were experimenting with the moneyball strategy in footy. He signed suarez and carroll on deadline day and the following summer Stewart Downing, Doni, José Enrique, Sebastián Coates and Craig Bellamy. then he left and the moneyball/director approach was pretty much abandoned shortly after that br didnt wna work under one. The only real flop out of those was AC maybe downing for some the others were cheap enough or played a role before moving on for a similar fee.
Not sure if theres a dof at utd yet or its just ogs.
Reeve James started out at RB at Wigan before moving into CM. That's from the reports I read. So his position may not even end up being RB.
