Will Pants be happy to sit on the bench. Don't think so. If we can get some money for him great. Who do we keep as GK cover. I'd keep Steele and try to loan Smith out.
with both Cardiff and Stoke possibly selling their GK i could see some demand for Pants if we keep the price sensible
with Grant and Soudani sold already we doing a reasonable job of balancing the books
also heard Sheff U wanting Ben Osborn...
Good signing 👍
We need a keeper moving in some fashion, preferably Steele firstly.
I think it’s a good time for Osborn to move on, good player but his versatility has arguably hampered him nailing down a place in midfield where he is more effective. 3m is derisory in this market though, even with only a year left.
People seen we’ve been linked with Adomah on a free and Ollie Burke? Either would greatly improve the team
Adomah is having a medical according to the Post
Not really balancing the books Bunk, we have as many coming in as there are leaving. Means we are still unbalanced, and on match day we'll have more players in the stand than on the pitch.
Looks a good signing on the face of him. I reckon Pantilimon will stay and fight for his place and Steele will go. Still hopeful Smith will go out on another season long loan and keep improving.
As always it will come down to money.
Still a few weeks to go. They have some work to do to try and shift a few out of the squad. It will take some doing but it isn’t impossible.

I was thinking more in terms of finances than squad numbers, as 3 of the 5 newbies have been loans or frees.
In terms of squad balance plenty to sell and loan out as of yet. But loans tend to be left until late in the window or even after it closes
The squad is massively too big. We need as many as 10 out of the door, which isn’t going to happen. Adomah is like MON, 3 years too late. I am seriously concerned we are going for quantity over quality.
Not sure why the negativity over Adamoah. He's 31, has barely missed a game in the last eight seasons and hasn't played less than 35 games. He was MotM in the Play-off final. Last year he scored four and assisted three. Oh...and he is on a free and wanted by West Brom.
With Osborn, then he has one year left on his contract and on the left we now have two left backs, plus three left wingers in Lolley, Ameobi and Appiah. Should we halt Appiah's development or make room instead. If we could get 4m+ it's best for all parties.
Ariyini and Clough are both wanted by former loan clubs and Walker has interest from Coventry. Adlene is in the QF of the Africa Cup and will likely find a suitor should they progress further.
That could easily be another four out the door. If Osborn goes, that's five. If Pants doesn't want to warm the bench I think someone who kept 16 clean sheets will find a buyer.
We might have to terminate the contracts of Murphy and Watson, but they can both do a job further down the league. Bridcutt should command a fee as well...so...that's the clearout done. You could add in Benaloune and Yacob to Olympiakos rumours and Hefele should give us teh same return we paid.
Btw...if anyone hasn't realised it's only the 10th July.
Remaining signings then...a potential RB (we have Darikwa and Richardson already), a DM/CM as back-up (if Watson etc...go), an AM as back-up for Carvalho and a FWD to back-up Grabban and Ansarifard.
All sounds extremely positive to me. Unless of course spending 20m on Mings appeals in the ongoing great British transfer market debacle.
Good analysis that. I think the club would be very happy if they managed to get all those outgoings done. I would be sad to see Osborn leave but an opportunity in the Prem would be too good to turn down for him. He has given some sterling service to the Reds these past years.

Adomah is the one signing that I feel could actually come in and hit the ground running. How stats don’t lie, he has been a virtual ever present for Boro and Villa over the last few seasons. He has been promoted with both of those clubs so his experience could be invaluable. I also hope Appiah can learn a lot from him. I don’t see any drawbacks on a two year deal at the age of 31 for free?

100%.
Most excited about Silva, but both Adamoah and Ameobi are proven. Not stellar signings but two big guys who will get points away at snowy Stoke in January. Add in Semedo and Yates and that has to be the hardest midfield in the Championship.
We will be no pushovers away. That’s for sure.
Semedo appears to be a bit like Guy Moussi from wheat I have read. Brings a lot of energy to the midfield but needs to work on consistency.
There’s talk that bridcutt, Murphy, Steele and hefele have been told to find a new club.
Add in possibly Osborn, Cummings, clough, Fuentes and a CM and I’d call that the team trimmed.
Yes, those four have been told they can leave. Good move really. Got to trim the squad and I don’t think any of them can really complain, except possibly Bridcutt.
Ansarifard gone to a Qatar side! That was a bit out of the blue.
Dowell has signed for the Sheep on a season long loan.
