I don't know Goldi, it may be just something as simple as him looking into another job and the club doing what isn't that unusual.
Much as we as fans love how Fosun have gone about things i imagine being under Chinese management can be a struggle at times on the inside.
I think there is cause for concern about this as he appeared to be doing a good job but evidently relationships between him and the board have been deteriorating for a while. Looks like Jeff Shi will take on some of the responsibilities and while Fosun are successful in business they are certainly not experts in the football world. Hopefully this change is one Nuno won’t be concerned about but it always seemed his relationship with Laurie was good and certainly Dalrymple had established a much better rapport with supporters than Moxey.
Looking back at some of the remarks Dalrymple has made you could detect some disconnect in messages between him and Jeff. Mainly over the stadium, which makes me wonder whether Fosun do actually prefer to re-locate. Dalrymple having insisted that any development will be at Molineux.
There have evidently been quite a few staff changes behind the scenes as Fosun stamp their authority on the club. I just hope they consider the need for expertise in the industry and aren’t just focused on control. Relationships with supporters has improved no end in the last couple of years and it felt Laurie had a big part to play in that. And the line that has been sold about the success under Fosun has been that everyone has been pulling in the same direction. Let’s hope that doesn’t change
The line "Put on garden leave" says to me that LD has been told to leave the premises immediately. The only reason I can see for that would be that he has had a major fall out with Jeff Shi.
I agree with DJ, I think there is cause for concern about this news.

Falling apart, just like it always has done.
Garden leave usually only happens when there is a conflict of interest, happened to me once when I put my notice in to go to a competitor, got three months off !!
Im currently having to work three months notice with my present employer, no so much fun.
agree with all these sentiments. The club statement, however, is slightly confusing -
"Wolves can confirm that managing director Laurie Dalrymple has had his contract ended and been placed on garden leave with immediate effect."
You can't be on garden leave if you are not under contract. Therefore, either he has had his contract terminated - end of story, or he is still tecnically under contract but on garden leave.
I suspect he is on garden leave until the solicitors sort out the terms of his dismissal.
WTF has he done wrong?
Apparently the guy who tweeted about Dalrymple being sacked 5 days ago posted a follow up tweet at the time saying 'he was holding the club to ransom'.

We are having a shocker of a preseason. The wheels are coming off no signings and by most reports not even close to any and now 1 of the bosses gets basically sacked.
We are in for 1 tough season i just hope we survive now give me 17th
He can pop over and do some gardening for me for sure, I’m currently in Portugal on the lash
Always makes me laugh when I read comment of how much better LD is then fat Jez
Could LD operate under the financial sanctions that FJ had too, is the question that should be asked ?
Any Bozo could tweet pictures of being on the lash at Fosun’s expense for the SB to marvel at, maybe Lil Jeff has realised the LD ain’t got the minerals to take us back to the top of Europe?

Jez was a disaster when it came to pr. And his control of the purse strings made Morgan look a lot worse as an owner than he really was. The main sadness is that Norwich and Burton realised what a liability he was much quicker than we did
Coming hot on the heels of the Dalrymple departure comes news that Wolves employees are going to lose the perk of having free season tickets as part of their employment package. Also we saw the fairly hefty increase in ticket prices this summer and just sense more of a hard nosed business approach coming through from Fosun. Hope they don’t undo the much improved relationship built up with fans over the last couple of years
My step-daughter's father-in-law (a lot of hyphens there) is one of the pre-match/post goal flag wavers and he told me mid way through last season that they wanted to start charging him. They backed down in the end but he said that the club were looking to clamp down tighter on such things.
From one perspective, ok he's been getting to watch premier league football for free (and to be fair he hasn't been very interested in Wolves before this season). But from another, is it right to charge volunteers?
Going back to the top of Europe will come at a price !
If we were still paying to watch Dave and Leon we’d have something to moan about, don’t be surprised if you start getting charged for ‘match thread entry’ sometime in the near future
I know someone that sells programmes before the game and the only reason he does it was to get to see the matches for free, and he probably couldn't have afforded to go otherwise. These small but important roles at a football club wont be easy to fill if the only benefit is enough money to buy three or four pints.
Sounds like many were just selling the tickets on
Unsubstantiated rumour on MM that LD had applied for a position at Harlequins, whether that was before or after the "breakdown" in relations is unclear.
another rumour is that peter "most hated man in football" kenyon is to join us.
mol mix
remember it was kenyon that first approached morgan about fosuns interest
With so many genuine fans on the waiting list for season tickets, it makes sense that the 'perks' have to go. After all, as has been mentioned, many were probably sold for a profit anyway.
Agree. It's very different now to when we were getting in 20,000 at a push

I know that he lives in Molesey in SW London, Harlequins would be an easier commute, but quite a step down in size of role. I would not think it would be by choice.
