What is the logic behind a team from Bristol and a team from Derby going all the way to Florida in the middle of summer to play a game of football, which is then abandoned.
I never get that, travelling thousands of miles, to train in an unfamiliar climate to prepare for a season in the Championship playing half of your games in the decent part of the East Midlands .
I suppose it is a team bonding trip. But the weather has wrecked at least one practise game. I like to imagine the fixture with Bristol City was an accidental coincidence of travels and an opportunity to play against some decent opposition. Otherwise there is no point in the flights. Everyone can judge for themselves the value of the bonding. And certainly the Saratoga game was like playing against a Sunday school team.
However the players do need playing minutes - as many as they can get a - and Manager Coku needs to find out what talent he has to play with and the best way of organising it.
Probables.
Roos.
Bogle, Keogh, Davies, Forsyth
Huddleston, Shinnie, Dowell.
Bennet, Martin, Marriott.
Possibles.
Carson,
Wisdom, Evans, Malone, Bird/Lowe.
Thorn ,Holmes, Lawrence
Waghorn, Blackman, Anya.
Subs - Either team.
Mitchell, Butterfield, And six from the Under 23's
Match against City to conclude at 2.30 BST today
Bennett and Anya on the scoresheet
Interesting, Cocu's first team selection could be a surprise. Hope it's better than Pearson's first selection.

Pre-season results mean nowt, according to accepted wisdom.
That said, Brizzle are a quality side (judging by last season) so a win is more welcome than against the Yanks.
I just hope that Cocu doesn’t assume tonight’s scorers are the way forward…. and I say that as someone who likes pacey wingers/wing-backs, whatever, and I enjoy watching Anya play. I just don’t think the result reflects our strengths when a new manager is running the rule over our squad.
Could Frank be doing us a favour and lending us Ampadu?
He has been left out of the Chelsea squad with a view to a season long loan. Villa have been linked but considering he tried to loan him for us last season, could we be his preferred destination?
I do hope so. He would be a fantastic signing.
Yes I agree, he would be a good signing.
In fact a fantastically good signing. We are all agreed!
I think Frank came to Derby and left on very good terms. I believe he will help us where he can, After all we did a good job with the development of Tomori, Mount and Wilson.
I know he will think, mainly because of himself. But the facilities Mel has invested in and Cocu as manager - can't be bad! This loan would be mede purely for development of the player. Derby would be the best place for him. But would he get in above Keogh and Davies. A back up with a place as defensive mid-fielder.

Sorry to be an old misery guts, but I've not been that impressed by what I've seen of him. Admittedly that's not been a lot, but I thought he looked a bit 'sideways & backwards'.
However, if he has anything like the impact of Fik Tomori, I'll very happily eat my words.
