Such a shame we couldn’t play with that discipline in the first innings. Good day but still looks a lost cause. So bloody frustrating. If we’d shown that application in the first innings we’d have made about 350.

Still don't think we have any hope of chasing this down. One more wicket and we're into Bairstow and Buttler, and we know how reliable they are. We're traditionally crap at picking up where we left off overnight, Root is traditionally crap at converting 50s to tons, the Aussies always start the day with their tails up, new ball is on its way, and our last 3 wickets aren't worth anything really.

Besides, we've had a good day today when noone expected the team to do much more than capitulate. Tomorrow, people will be having vague hopes of victory, belief will start to flow, and knowing this lot, arrogance will follow soon after.

I'd love to be wrong but I still think we're more likely to be all out before lunch than winning this one.

Need a big century from Root and a century from Stokes please.

Won predictor has the Aussies at 70% which is fair.

8 more overs until the new ball. Surviving that is the first task. (40mins)
Then the next 15-20 overs against the new ball which will take us to lunch.
Tough task.
We will most probably lose this game by 120/40 runs and that first innings debacle will come back to kick us where it hurts most.

Good to see Root really dig in yesterday. Denly got a lot of luck and that 50 will be enough to see him retained due to the nature of how he scored his runs.

Stokes and Root have to bat through the 8 overs unscathed. Runs are irrelevant and they need to stay in. My head says they're going to try and be positive and add runs quickly before the new ball comes to put the Aussies under more pressure to take wickets with it.

Do people prefer to watch Cricket on the sky sports main event channel or sky sports cricket channel? I know there exactly the same but still just intrigued. I usually watch it on the main event channel and switch over when they put something else on.
