On Sky they say the o Labuschagne as if it's French. But if it is it's from A German region of France as SCH in a name is typical of Germany of Netherlands. as he was born in SA, German or Dutch is quite likely,

Let's just hope we can bat a long time now to give Archer a decent rest given he bowled a lot today.

We will be bowling again by tea time tomorrow but in think we will get around their score

Well Done England. Arch was terrific and Broad not far behind. So the decision to bowl was the right one which the rain tried to make look foolish but the bowlers took advantage of the late improvement in the weather.
The Aussie batting is not any better than ours except for Labuschagne (who surely should have been at Edgbaston as well) and Smith.

Big question is can we take advantage of the position the bowlers have created?

Batting conditions should be better for the rest of the test match. Hot days and sunny skies are forecast.

300 or around will win this must win test match.

Lots of talk that Root was bowling Archer from the wrong end ie up hill hence why his speed was down, traditionally fast bowlers bowl from other end

Wouldn't surprise me with Root's stubbornness.

I think the run ups weren't 100% dry.. Its not easy bowling quick when its damp. archer still managed to take 6 though

Fair play to England. Lot more satisfying running through the last 8 wickets over getting them 8 down then getting frustrated by tail enders adding 100+ runs more than they should.

Brilliant from Archer and Broad. Now the batsmen need to earn their keep. Announce yourself onto the test arena Jason Roy with a blitzing 100!

Australia are fragile without Smith.
