Probably already been said but it's daft we've not moved Root back to 4. I really don't get the logic in making our best player worse to protect weaker players.

Roy is a pri ck. If he was patient he could really wear opposition bowlers down with his aggressive batting. All he needs to do is be patient for 10-15 overs and then get going like Warner does.

Agree, although think he'd do a better job if he wasn't batting in the first 5 overs every innings.

Yeah its pretty obvious if Denly is in the side he needs to be coming in before Root.

Tbf his mind is clearly scrambled, trying way too hard to force his way back into form whereas Warner used his experience, trusted his ability and worked his way back in yesterday. Roy doesn't have that in his locker yet, he's pushing way too hard and hoping he can force it which is only having the opposite effect

The selectors don't have a plan, and the coach basically admits he doesn't do anything and also doesn't watch County cricket. The lot of them are just trusting to luck that they'll stumble across something that works eventually.
