I think it's the best we've played for 6-7 months
======

moments in the first half caught my eye, with with boli in particular which i thought was nice.

i said to my brother in the second half though, they had massive gaps i felt we could have exploited better.

RB a must now.

Twitter was mental last night, people calling for Lennon sacked, Boli binned and Griffiths to start ahead of Edouard.

Absolute crackpots in our support.

Unbelievable mate.

5-2 on aggregate against a team from a proper football background who are probably as tough an opponent as you can get at this stage. Fine by me and i will take that in the next round as well.

Heard a lot of stuff like 'we shid be beatin ris mob aboot seven nuhin'. Really? Based on what?

Jozo was good last night...as were Bitton, mcgregor and Christie. A few others were good in flashes. Brown was circulating the ball well rather than constantly slowing us down (which was interesting).

Boli will be as good a replacement for KT as we are likely to find.

We had a decent mix of possession and getting it forward quickly. Maybe too many crosses into the box but anyone who thinks that's all we did is beyond help.

The players are adapting fairly quickly to a different style of play.

Quite happy with what I'm seeing.

Btw, 87 minutes last night, Scott brown must have ran 50 yards forward at full pelt to get up in support. Think he thought he was 21 again, don’t think he got back till the final whistle.

Danny Simpson is also coming in next week for a week’s trial after his release from Leicester. Depending on how he looks, condition wise I wouldn’t be against it as back up.

Very happy again with last night, their keeper made 4 or 5 very good saves

The move in the first half to put Boli through was excellent best bit of football we’ve played since eddy’s goal last week

McGregor motm for me with Christie not far behind, Morgan and Forrest were very good, thought Forrest was brilliant second half

I think it’s tome to introduce jullien, jozo and Bitton doesn’t work and we need Ajer back in the middle

It was never a 2-1 game we missed countless chances and they scored their only one

Very happy with that, looking forward to next week now

The league is what matters. Can't be bothered with the so called champions league anymore.

subs really irked me cause u know if they got another equaliser it would have been "tired legs"

should have had them on sooner imo.

Seen people say Bains kicking has gone downhill since lennon came in, probably because he has been asked to kick it longer to more crowded areas, to players like forrest who is never going to win a header i like bain, good keeper.

I'd have had Jullien on from half time if not starting him, that said I am not aware of how fit he actually is but would have been a good chance to get him fitter?

Also we seemed to play the ball to feet more, that suits Eddy as he is WAY better running at defences than with his back to goal and trying to hold it up, split the lines and turned them on a fair few occasions, very early doors to be fair but will always take a win
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Understand your point about julien but bitton and jozo wete playing well and in a very important match. Would have been daft to make a change.

As for the lack of subs...it maybe that the manager feels that players need to get a full game in their legs. Thats fine by me.

If that mob had got another goal it would have been panic stations so it was a serious match.

I didn’t see the need for subs, we don’t play again for another week and the team were playing well, who would you of wanted to see come on? Jullien is the only one who’ll start next week.

Only thing I would slightly agree with you on is we’re maybe lacking a wee bit of quality overall but that’s without tierney rogic Shved bayo and a few new signings but I think to style of football is an awful lot better

Under Rodgers if it had went 1-1 we’d of been content in seeing the game out by passing it about the back

posted on 18/7/19

Mags the one position I don't like chopping and changing with is the DCs so continuity is welcome, don't think Bitton will play there aw that much though, Lennie likes him so he will play more than under Bren I just fancied seeing a bit more of the new boy, kinda nosey that way

Maybe it’s just my love for the Bethlehem Busqhets but Biton has been very good at centre half in almost every game he’s played there for Celtic.

I’d rather Sinclair was binned completely personally, can’t stand watching him be a sheidtbag again this season when it matters.

I don’t think Morgan will be a regular, I’d be absolutely stunned if he is. I can honestly see us going to a 3 at the back with bayo up top with Eddy. Lennon seems to be itching for Bayo to get back, can’t stop talking about him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sinclair is a weird one, he's the best poacher in our team, scores so many goals yet I'm still often left underwhelmed.

We have a rediculous amount of winger's so this season he won't get away with underwhelming performances if he even gets the chance.

I think these still a chance he could be sold, I wonder if his lack of game time is a hint that it time to move on coz he's probably earning more than Shved, Johnston, and Morgan put together.

As well as Morgan has done, on current form we should be starting the season with Forrest and Johnston on the wings.

morgan and christie looked deed at the end, i get that we want to get them 90 mins but at that point you run the risk of injury. too risky when you have fresh players on the bench

its early doors and i know i'm sounding hypercritical but i was glad to see us actually get shots on goal for a while.

pleased overall but if we are going to keep launching crosses in we need a hooper or a target man.

Bitton got caught the wrong side a few times but he managed to get back and nick the ball back

He’ll do for this round and the next but we need to start bedding Jullien in

There was one last night where Sinclair faced their full back up and sh@t it and turned back and played the ball backwards.

Morgan at least had a go pretty much every time he had the chance. The wee run he had in the 2nd half was quality, ref should have played on.

If Johnston is fit he starts next week

I’ve seen a huge change in eddy, his pressing; his first touch, his awareness and most of all his demeanour

He actually ran across the park to celebrate McGregors goal

Lennon said he hopes to have Shved and Bayo in for next week. Johnston will be fit too.

Fancy Johnston to tear this mob a new ersehole in fact. They surely can’t be up to much?

sinclair got 4 minutes mate i'm not sure we can judge on that

with morgan, i feel the same way abou him as i would if ralston started, would have played pretty well probably but i worry about the bigger games.

happy for him to prove me wrong but i don't see it in him, good game last night though and despite blowing out his erse at the end he kept going, admirable.

Said the same about Edouard last week, biggest shift I’ve seen from him. He seems to get on with lennon, he’s been a massive player for him, bodes well for the season.

I thought we played well last night and had our shooting been a bit more accurate and not just within keeper saving reach we could easily have scored 5 or 6.

First half especially was a good performance. Second half looked exactly as it was - an early season game that we had won.

On the players
Boli Boli - I like the look of him. Reminded me a bit of Izzy when he first signed, bombing forward, keen to get involved in play, good footwork. However as has been pointed out he switched off or got complacent which cost us a goal.

Morgan - I like him and made no secret of that when we signed him.To see a player take on defenders, take hits and get back up is great to see. Still a bit to go with him but I am confident he will be great for us.

Eduoard - I don't think people see just how much he does, his movement and link up play is terrific. Even when he isn't scoring he creates so much space for himself or others.

It was good to see us be a bit more forward thinking, we kept the ball and rotated it back through the defence when needed but I noticed quite a number of times players get the ball, go to play it back then turn on it and pick out one of the full backs pushing forward or into attacking mid.

All in all a decent early season win against the Bosnian champions.Don't turn up your nose at Bosnian champions, as an international team they are far better than Scotland nowadays.
