I'd be shocked if chelsea finished above arsenal

Guess we have to ask the same question about a team who finished s massive 1 point ahead of us last season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Took the words out of my mouth... Or rather keystrokes off my fingers.
They have signed one, supposedly, good player though. How will he adapt to the Premier League? That will be interesting because he'll be an expensive flop if he does flop and we all know Levy hates spending money, he'll hate it even more if turns out an expensive waste.
You don’t need to significantly improve the squad to make improvements. What a strange notion.
For Chelsea it is a bit of a damage limitation season, and a free-hit in some ways. Lampard wouldn't be there if it were not for the transfer ban, imo.
Honestly don't think Solskjaer will last the season. It may be a case of how quickly they react as to if United get top 4.
I do think we have a chance of finishing 3rd, but equally 6th is very possible. Anything above or below 3rd-6th? No chance.
I could be wrong, but there has to be a reason we kept a few 'big shirt numbers' open after the last reallocation.
# 3,8,12,13
#6 should be vacated soon as well.

Agree with all of that.
I’m pretty certain Ole will see the season out. Even if things aren’t looking good the club won’t quickly pull the trigger because it’s not something they do.
Spurs fans are acting like we scraped 5th and we're miles behind them, the teams stayed the same basicly, better if bellerin is fit
If Eriksen signs a new contract and Lo Celso and Sessegnon come in this week as expected, throw in Alderweireld clause running out on Thursday - then I would be amazed if we don’t finish at least 6 points above Arsenal next season.
We may have only finished 1 point above Arsenal last year but we were the walking wounded, deep in Europe and stumbled from 1 humbling to another. It was the worst 6 months Poch has had at the club, and yet Arsenal still couldn’t capitalise.

For my part, I was assuming as DJ had suggested that you own't make any further signings. Zaha and Pepe look very unlikely and you've lost Ramsey, with Koscielny apparently gone too.
Spurs have filled the gap left by Dembele, which meant we had a knackered midfield with Dele being forced to play further back.
Point being, if you don't improve while the others around you are the only way you can go is backwards.

Out of the 4 teams that finished above us, 2 are untouchable, 1 has signed some players, 1 has sold one of their best players, we haven't particularly declined, Ramsey was nice but had more bad games than good, we'll make 1 or 2 signings, holding and bellerin back helps the defence, midfield is the same crap but still there and our forwards are solid.
Indeed, but it’s difficult to make any real judgements when the clubs haven’t concluded their transfer business. As things stand, Arsenal aren’t in massively worse shape than their other three competitors for a top four spot.

We've only had 2 players wear it over the past 13 years.
I hope it goes to someone who deserves it. Can't just hand it out to some nobody who happens to walk in.

Equally, we were in the Europa final - a competition that has a tougher schedule (albeit with the chance to play reserves at times).
We also had a fair injury list - 3 season ending injuries early doors.
We had a new regime, trying to change the style into a hard pressing, high tempo game. Training was more intense, so not that much of a surprise we had dips at certain times - including the run in.
It was also a squad that didn't necessarily fit Emerys game plan.
3 of who I would call key players were in their first PL season, and took time to settle as well (Leno, Sokratis, Torreira).
Of course it isn't certain those things won't happen again.

I know we have our own unique set of problems at Arsenal, but you could set your watch on a major Spurs collapse in the second half of a season.
Better keep your powder dry when it comes to the next round of excuses.

Only one team is untouchable with the funding of a Middle East state, Liverpool are like the rest of us Chelsea maybe still an exception but with a transfer ban, two good signing and any of us are back in the game
Arsenal definitely sticking with the back 5?
Suppose that depends on how many CBs you can keep fit though
The concern for Spurs is just how badly they played all season. That run of form at the end of the season was coming if you’d watched just how bad they’d been playing all season. The amount of wins they snatchrd while playing badly was pretty incredible, it was bound to catch up with them in the end, it wasn’t sustainable to play that poorly and keep winning.
