One is taking dope but it’s financial the other Klopp infused Adrenalin
If spurs keep kane, dele fit all season and dont rotate the back 4, with an improved midfield we should p15s 3rd
Looking at the whole arsenal squad theres about 3 or 4 players I'd take in the when.spurs squad and the cuunnts finished 1 point behind us last season crazy improvement needed for a lot of sides

Squad doesnt look pretty on the eye there and defence looks as bad as last season
Doesnt look good enough for top 4 but anything can happen. Spurs will not have done enough in the market, Chelsea and United have meh managers and are in big transition. 3rd to 6th will be tight
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We did literally nothing in the market last summer yet still finished 4th and made the CL final. We’ve bought 2 already and will bring in 2 more.
Ornstein has confirmed tonight the ceballos and saliba deals are set to be completed

Only one of those players will look to improve us this season, though. We need a LB, CB, Winger and arguably a back-up RB. Are you confident we will sign 3 or 4 additional players in the next 2 weeks? I'm not.
It seems unlikely you’ll fix all your issues in one window. That may or may not cost you a top four spot, but it is what it is.
I agree Dazza, but we cannot go into next season with Monreal/Kolasinac as our LB options. Both of them are absolutely shocking. Like seriously bad. We will get murdered on that side of the field if either of them are starters.
If Koscielny and Bielik were staying, I wouldn't be so concerned with getting another CB for this season (though it's not ideal), but both want to leave, so a new CB is a must if both players depart.
A winger is also a necessity.
Basically, if we don't get at least 3 more players in, I can't see us challenging for a top 4 spot.
We shouldn't have left things so late.
I think you overstate the problems, Samir. With your home form and strikers you’ll be challenging even if you don’t get all those issues addressed, in my opinion.
With the state of so many of the teams at the bottom of the table there’s plenty of points to be picked up by Arsenal to have you in contention.
Barring a complete disaster of a season I don’t see why Arsenal won’t be challenging for top four.
You think we should have moved to our 3rd, 4th, 5th choices because clubs play hardball?
I hope you're right Dazza, but you certainly have a lot more confidence than I do in Arsenal right now.
DJ, if other clubs are trying to screw us over or are demanding unrealistic fees, which are either exorbitant or we simply cannot afford, then yes, we should go for whoever the 2nd/3rd choice options are.
I'd go as far as saying pretty much most of our reported targets who aren't our 1st choice would improve us.
Otherwise we are relying on our youth players to make a huge step up, when it isn't fair to put so many expectations on them. Likewise, if we don't replace Kos/Bielik, we are then living in hope Mustafi will finally show some consistency for us. How realistic is that?
I just think your strikers can hide a multitude of sins. It’s something lacking in the competition for top four apart from Spurs. So I’d be surprised if any of those sides will accumulate a points total completely out of Arsenal’s reach.
It’s also often ignored what a difficult stadium the Emirates is for teams to collect points from. Those two things alone will have you in with a shout because they are big factors in the league.
Definitely isn't good enough for top four unless others get worse which is possible. A cup trophy is always possible regardless of the quality of the squad
We're no closer to City and Liverpool (further away even) however United and Chelsea may both struggle and potentially Spurs although less likely as they've been incredibly consistent the last few seasons

Last season United, Spurs and Arsenal all went on a rampage to scupper their own top four chances. Without similar poor showings from our rivals we're going to struggle
Much like the season Leicester won the league I don't believe that top four will be as easy to make as it was last season and we'll need to improve significantly to get there.
The squad age is about prime right now with several of the top players Sokratis (31), Ozil (hopeless by 30), Auba (30) all getting on with limited shelf life - which eventually translates as limited resale value.
We have no wingers, need a CB or two, only one good CM in Toreira and need a LB but with very little money and that's the minimum requirements for a complete 11 without glaring weaknesses.
Ceballos is done: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49078846

No point selling Sokratis now or in the next couple of years unless he becomes surplus to requirements as we won't get much, he's good enough to be a squad player for 2-3 years and will be first choice for now at least. It's not like we paid a fortune for him anyway.
Ozil, well we all know the story, nobody wants to buy him that can afford him and the 2/3 clubs that do seem to be interested can't afford his salary.
Aubameyang may be 30 but only very recently turned and has looked supremely fit in pre-season, again I'm not thinking about resale value for a player who won the golden boot last season, so long as he keeps scoring goals for the next couple of seasons then that £56 million we paid for him was a steal. Again, physically he looks in great condition so if we can get 2-3 more seasons out of him then we've had our moneys worth.
