He and Ronaldo don't really compete for the same positions. Ronaldo either plays as Juve's centre-forward or his favorite left-forward role in a front 3. Dybala plays all across the attacking line and there's always a place for him as long as he's in good form. He was simply in bad form with a crisis of confidence.
I've seen him quite a bit for Juve and he's perfectly suited for Serie A footy. Don't believe his game will transcend as well in England. He'll still be a good player, but he won't be terrorizing defenses.

If Lukaku is worth £80m then Sandy is worth about £10m in this market, and he is 70+ I think.
My theory on why no one has come in for Toby or Eriksen is that Toby mentioned last year that he wanted to be closer to his family and go back to ajax, however, £25m is still too much for them so he is hanging on for the free transfer - Spurs are fine with this as £25m isn’t exactly a lot these days, so we’re better off with 1 more year of Toby.
Eriksen only ever talked about Madrid and Barca, and had they come in for him he would be gone already. I don’t think he wants to leave for the sake of leaving. I still think Madrid will do a late deal for him as Modric and Asensio are injured now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A proven Premier League goalscorer, 26 years old.
What would you value him at, given some of the transfer values that have been bandied around this summer?
Let’s assume Mourinho was still there and Lukaku is his main striker. Inter come knocking. What makes you think United would accept anything less than £80 million or even more?
The only reasons that he’s going to go for less is because United want to sell and because his wages are huge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Terrible first touch, doesn’t link up well, fluffs his lines regularly. He is a very good striker but a significant step down on the likes of Kane, Aguero, Aubameyang. Never seems to score big goals in big games, goes missing when it gets tough and lacks the superstar vibe/commercial appeal.
I’d be happy to do a bet that he is either with United at the end of the window or has moved for less than £80m
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn’t say United would get £80m for him did I?
But if United weren’t keen to get rid then he’d easily be worth that and more.
Kane would probably go for £200 million in today’s market, or more, so by saying Lukaku is worth £80m I’m in no way saying he’s as good as him, nor Agustin or Aubameyang.
AWB has had one decent season at right back and went for £50m. They’re talking about £80m for Maguire, yet a 26 year old consistently high goalscorer isn’t worth £80m? Can’t agree with you there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do a bet mate, I bet United either keep him or he goes for less than £80m.
If no team is willing to pay more than £70m and United want to sell the that is his fair value, that’s how it works.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where did I say I think he’ll go for £80 million?

No swap deal involving Dybala and Lukaku is gonna happen, Juventus are 400 million in debt and need cash.
Latest product of the rumour mill is that we're asking for Douglas Costa instead of Dybala in exchange. That would be a much better transaction from my point of view. Shame that none of this is reality.
I hope Lukarthorse stays at United

The Argentine influence at Spurs may well swing it!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Argentine influence, CL football, Spurs reaching the final last season, the new stadium, being in London. There should be more reasons for him to want to go to Spurs right now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
££££££££
How much will he get at spurs and how much will he get at United?
Also London is an absolute sheethole of a city these days.
Have been there 4 times in the past half year and each time I have gotten ill from just travelling around London on the tubes and buses for work etc.
Not to mention the record amounts of murders etc at the moment and the fact the entire place is overpriced massively.
I went out for dinner there and it cost us £55 in total for two people and the food was complete crap, small portions as well. I can't judge London on one restaurant but I'm sure the prices aren't too dissimilar everywhere else.
Come up north a bit and it's half the price of that.
That's not to say London is totally bad, because it has it's nice areas too, my brother has a flat in Canary wharf and it is stunning and he also lives in a quiet part of Essex which is lovely. (I know Essex is miles from London).
You want a nice place in London though, prepare to cough up a load of money. No problem for a pro footballer I guess.
I have actually had pretty decent food in London too, but the prices are just ridiculous and at over 5 pounds for a pint of beer or 13 pounds for a double whiskey and coke. Fack off.
I spent a month in Cape town not so long ago, didn't get ill once.
4 visits to London, using public transport and I get ill each time. Place is a breeding ground for germs.
I reckon the plague will happen again one day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doubt Dybala will take the tube and eat cheap dinners. Ffs. For rich people the experience is a bit different than yours.
I dont really get why sarri would want lukaku

Lot of pissing in the wind going on in this thread.....
If Levy is keeping the 200K /per week cap on earnings then he ain't coming here.
If Levy is willing to pay him what he wants then.... Spurs wages cap is gone to hell and the weekly bill goes thru the roof!.

The problem with your so called point is that it’s completely nonsensical:
On the one hand your saying that Lukaku is worth more than £80m
On the other hand you acknowledge that United might sell for less than that if they are keen to get rid because no team will pay £80m for him.
I then point out that this surely means that Lukaku is not worth £80m
Sorry that this is so difficult for you to understand
It’s not nonsense.
Any asset will have a value but the selling price is rarely reflective of that value because of the conditions in which the sale takes place.
The car being a great example.

If no team is willing to pay more than £70m and United want to sell the that is his fair value, that’s how it works.

Where did I say I think he’ll go for £80 million?

If you need a quick sale on your car because you’re buying a new one, you might sell it for less than it’s true value.
Think on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So how much do you think he is worth and how much do you think a team will actually pay.
If you value him at £200m that’s great for you, but I bet you (you still won’t get drawn in on a bet here bcos you know I’m talking sense) that he will either be at Utd or will be sold for less than £80m

You would imagine Poch is more likely to revive Dybala`s career than the Norwegian Mark Hughes

Lot of pissing in the wind going on in this thread.....
If Levy is keeping the 200K /per week cap on earnings then he ain't coming here.
If Levy is willing to pay him what he wants then.... Spurs wages cap is gone to hell and the weekly bill goes thru the roof!.
Go figure wots likely to happen from that angle

The problem with your so called point is that it’s completely nonsensical:
On the one hand your saying that Lukaku is worth more than £80m
On the other hand you acknowledge that United might sell for less than that if they are keen to get rid because no team will pay £80m for him.
I then point out that this surely means that Lukaku is not worth £80m
Sorry that this is so difficult for you to understand

It’s not nonsense.
Any asset will have a value but the selling price is rarely reflective of that value because of the conditions in which the sale takes place.
The car being a great example.
