Why is Jose still unemployed?

So our squad was 6th best when he took over, then 5th best after his first 2 transfer windows, where would you rank our squad in his 3rd season and more transfer windows, when he had us almost midtable? Was he underachieving then, or had he taken us backwards the longer he was here?
