Scoring a barrel load against Killie then missing a sitter v Celtic is what people take note of
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leading the line magnificently in a tough away tie in Europe (where teams like Southampton and Man Utd have come a cropper in recent years) whilst scoring a goal and setting up two others in the process is also something that people take note of.
Nobody will argue that Morelos has to sort out the disciplinary problems of last season.
But it does seem really odd that it is only really Celtic fans who wont acknowledge that Morelos is actually a terrific footballer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont see any evidence of other clubs acknowledging it either. One bid of ,€3m would seem to support that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Colombian national manager noticed. To get a call up to that team at the age of 21/22 whilst playing in the Scottish league was quite remarkable.
Fact is Morelos got sent off 5 times last season and its well known Rangers want big money for him.
He isn't worth that level of risk at the moment. He needs to prove he can cut out the red cards before clubs will consider paying the big money Ranger want for him.
His indiscipline cost him his place in the Colombian squad and it has made him a risk for potential buyers.
If he scores 30 goals again this season - and he already has 5 in Europe at the start of august - and cuts out the reds then I think we will struggle to keep hold of him.

How many reds did he get the previous season?
What stopped clubs buying him then?
The Colombia manager took a look at him and sent him back because he was rotten and missed sitters. If he had scored a hat trick for Colombia do you seriously think they would have passed on him because of a couple of red cards
He's a bang average striker with very little to commend him. If he was any good he"d be away.
Outstanding player. So much more than goals.

I like Morelos but ffs, talk about scraping the barrel
When were those games played, 3 or 4 years ago?
Last night the goals, were scored by four different players. If he never scores v I take it big games you mean celtic who cares.
If aribo fires one home, or jack again it's three points just the same
The Colombia manager took a look at him and sent him back because he was rotten and missed sitters.
-----------------------------------------
Did he? Aye?
You would wonder why he came out in the press and said it was because Morelos hadn't played after his red card against Celtic
In terms of the previous season - he had only had one season at a big club and he had been on patchy runs of scoring goals.
As a player now Morelos has improved leaps and bounds since his first season. He would never have provided assists like those two last night in his first season.
He would have found some way to have a daft shot that would have went miles off target.
He has matured as a footballer - he just needs to mature as an individual in terms of his discipline.

The irony is I have been open and honest in saying I would have sold Morelos because I think his indiscipline is too much of a distraction and I would rather not take that risk this season.
I am not just a Morelos fan boy by any stretch of the imagination.
But you have to seriously be at it if you are saying he isn’t a cracking player.
And in this day and age when McBurnie goes for £20m I don’t think Morelos is ultimately being overpriced at £15m at all.
But to achieve that he will need to continue firing the goals and cut out the red cards. If he does that he will also more than likely get back in the Colombia squad.

I'm delighted that Morelos hasn't been sold cos I think the silly side of his game will go as he matures.
He's still only 23 so still young though I think this season will be pivotal for his career.
With the extreme differences between Defoe and Morelos we've got it pretty good up front, though could always do with one more in there.

Is this Barker signing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think he's going through a medical at the mo.
Ah well no Kent then.
Feels like we shouldn't have bothered with Helander and added that to whatever else we could scrape together and have bought Kent.
Not only will he go for much more in a couple of seasons, from what i have seen from Edmundson and Katic they are both miles better than Worrall last season.

He will probably pop his hamstring during the medical. And we will still sign him
I would have held off until we knew if we had qualified for the Europa Group stages. If we do make it then there would still be time to push the boat out for Kent - £4m up front plus £1m a season next two seasons.
Leeds wouldnt pay £7m for him when it came to the crunch.
Brandon fookin Barker though!
Do we seriously need another winger anyway?
Especially an average one.
Jones is the only winger that's ours we seem to be able to rely on. Murphy who knows if he will ever get back to top form. Ojo will be off next season.
Grezda off this season. Hastie has been dropped so far out of sight i'm worried he's miles off it. Middleton to go on loan
I think we need another. We were too hasty with Candeias imo, not great but if i realised Kent wasn't coming i wouldn't have wanted him sold.
