He played mainly as a striker at his last club, but can play across the front line. Think we have signed him to be a striker in the long term.
Still can’t believe David Luiz is a Gooner
You guys must be favourites for top 4 now, very good window for you. Expect Chelsea and united to miss out this year.

Wouldnt say favourites but with this team we should at least compete. Some players not fit like Holding, Pepe, Torreira, Tierney, Bellerin which isnt ideal and we could lose ground in the beginning of the season.
Agree that team looks much better overall. Upfront we are well equiped and midfield has improved. Defense remains a strong concern after all.
Injuries to our one or two wingers or strikers and we are in trouble. I don't like that a lot of the players we have in back up are untested in the Premier league. Bit of a gamble but hope it pays off
Still think we should have just stuck our neck out for Zaha

Matt Macey motm last time I saw him play for Argyle, are we continuing the cup keepers thing? Or doing a fresh way?
Is John-Jules unlikely to be involved?
He might be on the bench for some Europa group stage matches and, depending on the opposition, perhaps even early League Cup too.
Can't imagine much more than that at this stage in his development.
He did look promising in pre-season though.
A couple of concerns, but there's still lots to be optimistic about.
Having to start a season with all those injuries at the back is far from ideal. Especially after having splashed out around £150m in the transfer window.
It's always dicey coming back from a long term injury. As such, I've pretty much discounted the potential impact of both Bellerin and Holding for the next few months. Tierney too.
That means having to work with what we've got.
AMN/Chambers on the right. Nacho/Kolasinac on the left. And Sokratis/ Mustafi/Sideshow Bob in defence. Not exactly the end of the world.
As for midfield, I think we have enough bodies to throw around a few formations. Not too bad either.
I still think we could have done with some aerial options up front, as our attack is still very one dimensional.
I reckon Aubameyang, Laca and Pepe could give anyone a game.
Things are pretty thin beyond that, however. It's not gonna be fun having to bring on midgets like Mkhi, Nelson and ESR in the 65th minute of an away game against 6 foot 3 centre backs.
Oh, and if Leno gets injured, we're done. Might as well play the U15 keeper instead of Martinez.
Why is Martinez getting such a bad rep all of a sudden? Wasn't he highly rated last season? And who would you have wanted in place of him? Ospina?

Used to be a big fan of him. But one thing has to be said. We're pretty much entrusting all 3 Cup campaigns to a 27 year old keeper who couldn't hold down a place in the Championship. Our entire season basically, should something happen to Leno.
Matt Macey seems to be going down the same road by the looks of it. He's already 24.
Anyways, it's too late to complain now.
Very happy with what they have bought this window, can't believe it TBH.
The front line is top notch and can't wait to see Pepe in action.
My only concern (other than still having Mustafi) is letting Eddie go out on loan. We are only an injury short of needing him IMO.

I don't think it's worth worrying about something that hasn't happened. He's a good keeper (not our No.1) and that should be enough. Leno and Macey will both be on standby for those other competitions and it's likely they'll chop and change as appropriate. Then of course there's the fact (suspicion?) that we won't get to the end of all 4 of those competitions...
Sucks to be starting the season with Bellerin, Holding & Tierney still a good way from being fit and doubts over Torreira/Pepe's fitness (and possibly Laca?).
We've got a real buzz back within the club, but you all know what its like if we have a bad run of results. The next few months may be the most important of the whole season.
If we can get through to the end of October in a good position, with everyone fit, I'll be ecstatic. Tough tests vs Spurs, United, Liverpool and Watford before then though.
For me, this summer has brought back a little bit of that love which had been missing from the club for some time now.

Could he possible start on Sunday?

Yes and yes.
I expect Luiz will start on Sunday to be honest.
Mavropanos out 6-8 weeks
Tierney out for 4 weeks
Bellerin out til October
Holding in full training.
ESR 2 weeks
Elneny and Pepe unfit.
We have 3 rights backs at the club. 1 recognised right back who won't be fit until October
Just don't get the logic

The transfer window isn't over yet.
There's still enough time left in the window to ship out a number of players. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see either one of Kolasinac or Monreal shipped out.
This is The Arsenal after all. Got to balance those books in the end.
Would rather keep Kolasinac
