Some of them will have something to prove and also want to send a message

It's not the ideal team but I would say some of these players should realize that if they dont perform to a high level then they ain't going to play when other players are match fit. Names which come to mind would be Mkhitaryan, Xhaka etc. The younger players should be eager prove they can perform at this level. The good thing is that if we need something off the bench we have got quality in abundance.

Yeah. Think we are building confidence a game at a time, just like the players.

It's not a great starting XI but frankly it's still a team that should be beating this Newcastle side

We could have played Torreira, Pepe, etc but if one then got an injury we’d all be blaming Emery for playing them too soon

I understand why Ozil is out, but coupled with all those missed games over the last 2 seasons with "illness", it's frustrating to be paying a player £350k a week and he doesn't seem to be there when you need him.

Wondering who people expected to start here tbh. Thought Luiz may be thrown straight in, but that is about it once i heard news of Ceballos ankle injury.

Why on earth would Torreira not be playing? We're too lax on players who have gone on international tournaments during the off-season. Other teams seem to integrate their players quicker after international tournaments. Mahrez played 90 mins yesterday after winning the Afcon.
