I think most people know the Jesus goal was down to the law rather than any issue with VAR. The issue with VAR was more about the Rodri one in the first half.
Rui you need to get a life. 2 games in and you cheered for the city goal because it firstly kept pressure on liverpool
1 star from me.
An arsenal fan too after we saved their entire season last season!
I dont see why anyone has an issue with the new rule, how can they sit there and moan about ruling out a goal which came from an unfair advantage of handball which isnt prohibited in the game? Accidental or not why should one team be allowed to benefit from it over another????

Alot of confusion with VAR and the rules. Melton got it spot on. It was the challenge he on Rodri which i thought was a pen that wasnt asked for the ref to check on monitor.

Again var is there to assist not re ref the entire game, it has to be a clear and obvious error for them to overrule the ref too, they checked the lamela pen and agreed with the ref. I dont see how much different that is to a ref without var just missing it or ignoring it anyway.
Because the error can be the ref didn’t see all of it, not just in his application of the law. Even with the benefit of rewatching and multiple angles, they still deemed that not a penalty, which I do find odd to be honest. I can understand the ref on the pitch not seeing it fully, I can’t understand it being an allowable interpretation.

The new rule for handball is complete nonsense, that city accidental handball would only be given against the attacking team if they score. Had it been the defending team who made that accidental handball then it wouldn’t be given,
One handball rule for the attackers, one for the defenders, a complete nonsense

Offside rule was designed to rule out goal hanging. So what's with all these fractional overturned decisions about? Game should be allowed to flow, if you're a nose in front of the last defender, so frigging what

This is the weakest argument. What alternative do you propose?
The game has evolved in 150 years. If you want the original intention of the rule to stand you would have to create an area near the goal that players aren’t allowed to enter. Like a big semi circle painted on the ground to prevent goal hanging.
Otherwise, it’s the offside rule which is black or white. On or off.

We saved football for Arsenal fans.
Spurs fans would have been unbearable to Arsenal fans and the latter would now be hiding under a huge rock.
Is this the thanks we get?

Thank you!
It's like the old issue of, "That would have been a foul anywhere else," when a penalty isn't given. A foul should be a foul everywhere, they aren't divisible by location.

It’s not remotely a weak argument.
Lawmakers are fixating on betting decisions ‘right’ down to the last mm but haven’t stopped to themselves why it’s necessary.
The game is being spoilt with this needless and futile search for perfection in officiating, imo.
OP, the problem is definitely partly to do with VAR.
People have got themselves so muddled with the handball law, as have the law makers, and the situation has been so confused that we’re left with absolutes that make no actual sense.
This is all because of the ability to watch incidents back, in slow motion.
Common sense has disappeared.
