Btw..I advocated the signing of the lad from Rosenborg for the past couple of years.
Now I will be very worried if we sign him as it indicates a complete lack of planning in transfers and dysfunction at the very top of the club.

I agre and we didn’t even get close to mediocrity last Tuesday We need to get real and accept that for now, we are EL level at best. Yes we should have ambitions to get to the CL but as we have found out, our team have found that very difficult under various managers.

Can't agree with that. In trying to get there, we are not competing with the elite. We are competing with teams around our level. What is not acceptable is going into this every year completely underprepared. If we got beat by the better team, fine, that's what it's about. What we do though is something completely different. If it's pointless trying to get there, then we should just give up.

I genuinely don’t know why fans put themselves through this when essentially the fact is that they are placing their hearts hopes and dreams on following a 100 year plus football club that once meant something to a community that now exists as a private plc.

They will never risk in terms of betting the house against a wholly unknown market that is full of many variables.

And why should they?

Explain iff you will. Because you as a mere customer just want it because you’ve just always wanted it? Or your dad did?
