Not sure about Spurs. Seen nothing from the to suggest that they’ll be above Liverpool. This a side that lost 13 PL games last year.
I don’t think Liverpool will be as close to City this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We had too many injuries last season and shored up the gaping hole in the midfield.
I see us right up there and with Lo Celso and Ndombele only getting better, we will be there this year It;'s the first time, I feel this way in 3 years
Spurs are more one of few sides who consistently being in top 4 for 5 years in a row.
Liverpool haven't. United haven't. Liverpool finished for the first time in many years above Spurs. first time.
And this year, normal service will resume
Watched Liverpool against Southampton, and they looked pretty average

We finished above you because we became a much better team than you. Hence the three wins as well.

Tbh it could be either us for 5th or Chelsea
But I seriously doubt we’ll get top 4. Arsenal have spent very well in the summer and Ceballos looks amazing. Auba is what we lack - a consistent goal scorer and the likes of Pepe and Laca are better options than what we have with James and Lingard
Chelsea have had a tough start but wouldn’t discount any side with their midfield. Their lack of goals may well mean they finish 6th - or lower. But we’re not a top 4 side at all imo

City are still the best side in the league, Liverpool didn’t buy which was a massive mistake imo. Spurs now arguably have a better side than them and a better bench. Utds new playing style will see them through if our fitness holds up. Maguire and Wan Bissaka have made us solid and Martial looks rejuvenated. We drew at home to Chelsea last season and lost to Wolves away, so we’ve already collected 3 extra points. Chelsea can PLAY it’s just a matter of time until things click in imo. It’s not a fluke that they played Liverpool off the park for an entire half of football. Arsenal will leak as many goals as they did under Wenger.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As a Spurs fan I would 100% disagree that we have a better side than Liverpool. They have a better keeper and better fullbacks, the latter position being very key in the current game.
I’d actually say at present with Kane, Son, Moura, Dele, Eriksen, Lamela and Lo Celso we have some fantastic depth and options in the attacking department. More depth than Liverpool; but their 3 of Salah, Firminho and Mane are tried and tested and score at will whereas I’m not convinced Poch knows what our best combo is so we’re not developing the same level of consistency as them. Their first 11 is direct and has pace. We lack pace in our team and can really labour to what should be routine victories at times.
Liverpool will finish above Spurs, I can guarantee that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think a forward line of Son, Kane and Lucas is as good as anybodies at the moment.
As for pace, Son, Lucas, Ndombele, Sissoko and Lo Celso. Not sure how much more pace you need, Lamela and Kane are hardly slow as well.
Liverpool do have the better defence and keeper but I thinkyour midfield is miles ahead of theirs and you forward line is still quality.
I wouldn't say Spurs' midfield is miles ahead of ours. We play in different ways and our midfield works in our style.
People don’t seem to understand why Liverpool’s midfield is what it is
They see names on paper and think that tells the whole story. It’s existence is all about helping the attack operate as well as it does and it’s not as simple as swapping out the whole midfield for say, Spurs’ as it wouldn’t work as well.
I'd take Spurs midfield and forwards over Liberpools this season.
Fatigue will get the better of Mane and Salah eventually.
Won't Liverpool have to take an inconvenient break for the Club World Cup?
Having to claw back almost a month's worth of games-in-hand will certainly make things that much harder for them.
I think I might have to revise my predictions.
If you don’t have a City/Liverpool 1-2 then you are bonkers.
Its only 2 games. In the Middle East somewhere I think

I seem to recall Madrid being about 3 games behind at some point last season. Or was it the season before that?
If you do a combined XI it's hard to argue that we would get more players In there

Yeah but they have both had a very busy summer with little rest. Plus they have even less cover now with Sturridge gone.
I'd rather have Brewster than Sturridge

Taa Alderweireld Van Dijk Robertson
Sissoko Eriksen Ndombele
Moura Kane Son
The thing with Liverpool’s midfield is that it functions well as a unit, and is more than the sum of its parts. Which is why it’s more difficult playing against Liverpool’s midfield than it is Spurs’.
It’d be very surprising if Spurs finish above Liverpool this season. Liverpool are just a much better team.
Putting Sissoko in has blown your wum mate
